I was confident that I would learn nothing from this video, boy was I wrong.

So what youre psychic too!? I was literally gonna ask you for a video about this one. EQ8 is my absolute favorite ableton plugin, i use it on every track. And just like i figured, you definitely covered some new things about it that i failed to figure out on my own! Youre the best, thanks, and cant wait for the next one... && btw my mind is blown, so good luck reading it now! Hah 🤯

Another fantastic video, man. Once again, your ability to explain complex topics in simple ways is fantastic to see! One thing I've learned as an engineer is that "Using Your Ears" becomes easier once you know what to listen for! "Muddiness" isn't something you can understand right away because... how do I know what muddy sounds like? But as you chip away at it, things become much easier to understand. Lessons build on top of one another, and before you know it, you're EQ'ing like a pro! It may be a complicated topic to explain, but a video on what EXACTLY these "bad" qualities sound like would be invaluable to hundreds of engineers and music makers. Regardless, I'm loving these videos and am stoked to see the next one! 😄😄😄

That is a really good point! I often forget that to some people, they don’t know what fx mudiness sound like. A video about listening to differences would be a great idea! I will see what I can do 🙏 Thanks for the feedback 🤘

@@mickiewriedt hmmm maybe eq masking? And maybe at some later date (if you’re comfortable) talk a little about dynamic frequencies (as in more where most instruments fall sonically)
@bernard1232428 күн бұрын
You got something here tbh, frankly maybe think of the hardest things in production you’ve grasped over time and slowly water it down. Can’t say you’ve learned something if you can’t teach (surface level here) it in a simple, concise, digestible way, right?
@mickiewriedt28 күн бұрын
@ good point! And frequency masking would be a great subject actually. Maybe I’ll make a part two to the eq where I dive more into it! Thank you for the feedback, it really helps 🙏
