Having a real offensive line and a real WR #2 makes a huge difference. Last year we were all crossing our fingers about the line, like "well it's mostly the same guys, but maybe the coaches know something different." And we knew we were in bad shape with WR room once Corey Davis retired for one year, but I don't think anyone anticipated how much of a liability Lazard was. I'll precede my comments with 2 facts: 1) I'm a Patriots fan, and 2) I don't like Aaron Rodgers personally. However, that being said, I think the Jets are in great position to make a run in 2024. Health (and eventually Patrick Mahomes) is really the only thing that can stop them. In fact, with the Bills losing their top receivers, the Dolphins being decimated on defense with free agency, and the Pats, well, starting from scratch, the Jets are primed to win the division. RB Breece Hall is an absolute stud and now fully healthy from that serious injury 2 seasons ago. WR Mike Williams is super explosive and makes a great tandem with Garrett Wilson. They finally got a capable backup for Rodgers (WTF were they doing letting Zach Wilson be the backup last year). I would have loved to see them get TE Brock Bowers, but taking an offensive lineman in the draft was a big need. Aaron Rodgers can still play. So it's all in place as long as Robert Saleh doesn't screw it up.

There was some missing onfo on the jets D-line specifically the departure of huff and JFM which will eat into the depth and a piece of the lines success was that they kept relatively fresh into the 4th quarter because they were cycling all game. This can be mitigated if last years first rounder McDonald and late rounder coming off a sophomore slump Clemons who had a nice rookie year for a late pick but got some bad advice and messed with his body weight in his sophomore year and regressed badly. If those 2 can contribute the line will be elite again but thats a tough bet to make at the moment Safety is also a bit overstated. Adams had a nice season for a UDFA who made the team but he will be the target to attack. Chuck clark coming back from season ending injury is hopefully still the player he was before. And as for line backers quincy started hot and cooled by the end of the year. Hard to say why and mosley is getting up there and may have lost a half a step which will be concerning vs miami and buffalo offense

Yea i love most of the jets offseason. But not liking what they did with the DL at all. Adding reddick helps replace huff but jfm was one of their best run defenders and consistently got pressures. Then downgrading from jefferson to an over paid kinlaw, bad look. This defense was elite last year with their weakness being giving up huge run gains. Concerned this will get even worse now. Also, the depth is good but this defense was strangely very healthy last year. Cant expect that to happen again. That said, as questionable as this offensive coaching staff has been, the defensive coaching has been excellent so hooefully they have a solid vision to fix that run defense

The Jets are counting on a 41 year old QB coming off an Achilles and a WR and LT who have had a lot of trouble staying healthy in recent seasons. I think the Jets are a good team on paper but on paper is not where games are won. I don't think Smith or Mike Williams can be counted on to stay healthy for a whole season. Smith and Moses are also older tackles at age 34 and 33. Now granted I do think they smartly hedged on Smith/Moses by grabbing Olu Fashanu. I also think Corley was a nice supplemental addition to the WR core. But in the end I don't trust the Jets health esp given how many positions the Jets are going to be older and injury prone at critical positions and I also don't think the Jets are a very well coached team. I think the Jets are still behind Buffalo whose demise has been greatly exaggerated.

They will win the division and best case scenario they make it to the championship game and loose to the chiefs. As a packers fan I’m well accustomed to this. The packers have been the #1 offense in the league several times over Rodgers career and lost every time in the playoffs. You’re trippin if you think Rodgers is going to throw to a 3rd round receiver lol. He doesn’t trust rookies. He’s going to insist that all the old dogs he brought with him are out there getting snaps over the young talent. I almost feel bad for Jets fans. Rodger’s is amazing at a small set of skills but outside that he does a lot of negative things to hurt your team too. You will see. He’s also been behind the best if not one of the best offensive lines in the league his entire career and has had elite receivers before and only pulled it off once. You will need that stacked offensive line though because Rodgers is implementing “his” offense which is closer to McCarthy than Lefleur and he’s going to revert back to holding the ball way too long and trying to throw it deep every time. With Rodgers calling plays too you can basically kiss your run game goodbye lol.
