"unintended acceleration" happen A LOT in the 70's, is the linkage between the gas pedal and the carburetor (does this generation know what that is? Lol) was primitive in comparison to modern day cars.

Wow thats embarrassing, with a little dose of humor once all are verified as ok. I have to say, bought a new blazer once that the pedals were just right different size where it was possible to get foot on brake and gas at same time by accident. It happened to wife twice and me once with the kids in car. Scared the bojesus out of us.
