I have a very large, very old, expensive area rug that's had to have this kind of deep clean treatment TWICE! It went under in the '94 floods of the San Jacinto River. Sat for 2 months in the muck & river silt. THEN it happened again after another house took on 6ft of water in Hurricane Harvey. Sat for a month in that gross muck, dried out & went into storage for a year until we bought a new house. I can really appreciate the backbreaking work y'all do. It's a TRUE art. I'm looking at that rug right now and can't believe what it's been through over time. I bet you've seen it ALL in what can happen to these huge area carpets!! Love to watch your videos! ❤

I love these videos but was wondering how on earth a rug gets this filthy! I was thinking hoarders, using it outside etc, but then it seemed odd that someone would suddenly car enough to pay to have it cleaned. Your story makes perfect sense! I buy inexpensive throw rugs for my basement livingroom (painted cement) just so the dogs and my feet have a more comfy place, but it totally makes sense now if we had a flood or sewage backup etc and the rug had meaning! Thanks for sharing! 💖

In one of your upcoming videos do you think you might be able to weigh the carpet before you clean it and after? I'd be very interested to know how much dirt is removed.

I have always found that if you take a pail with a few gallons of hot water and add a cup of vinegar, half a cup of baking soda, and a quarter cup of Fabulouso and then just use a good old-fashioned scrub brush - backed by elbow grease, you can generally loosen the most stubborn stains.

Awesome cleaner works very well also. You can usually find that at most dollar stores. I mix that with Fabuloso , baking soda or a little borax.

I think a clean work environment & clean tools are as important to good mental health as it is for a good successful work environment. The owners of this site should invest in a clean up & remodeling of this environment. Such a grand work building but it shows signs of terrible neglect. Encourage the owners to clean those walls & other containers sitting around the walls. Get creative with the shelving. Also, the fingers should not be used to redirect the flow of water. If the water is cold, I wonder how much the fingers & hands must hurt in the long run. Get some helpful nozzles. You also need bumpers, like creating a smaller bath for the carpet cleaning area. Hopefully that would cut down on water consumption. Or create more drains between work areas. Best wishes for you and your family and coworkers. Thank you for sharing your work days with us.

You could find some way to wrap the two hoses together and put a hook on the wall so that you could hang them instead of constantly picking them up off the floor.
