I work as a preschool teacher. Half of my kids don't have edges and as they get older, their edges fill in. Now, some kids have a head full of hair imuding edges. My point is, every child is different. Some people don't have edges and that is a natural thing for them. Their edges just don't grow.. Try not to judge so much. There's enough negativity in the world as it is

Hi, my mother always used to tell me to use very thick thread like wool when doing my niece's hair, or fold the thin string over about 4 times as a last resort when we were out of wool and desperate but never regularly. She said sewing string on its own will eventually cut through the hair because it's thin so is sharp. She knew what she was doing as my sister and I had very long thick hair. She'd put lots of moisturiser, blue magic, and wrap our hair in a twist with wool from root to tip with beads at the end. (You could see the moisturiser coming out around the wool but it would eventually disappear). People were always asking my mom what she did to make our hair be so long.
