I can do any braid I’ve ever tried on someone else’s hair but struggle to do it on my own. The angle messes with me and I never know how to hold the hair. So much easier when it’s someone else’s hair 😢

I completely agree, I think putting strands underneath each other is easier than crossing them over like with french braids. I’ve tried french braiding for years and can’t do it but pulled off a dutch braid on the first try 🤩🤩

I think it's because you can not see the braid as well with Dutch plates , it's more like a three strand twist than a proper plate unless you are using small and tight strands..

I struggled a lot with it too, but with enough practice! I know how to do a French braid blindfolded so I had to fight the instinct to pull the pieces of hair over each other. Once my brain could tell my hands to pull the sections of hair UNDERNEATH instead of over, I finally got it

I’m going to be 40 this year and I have ALWAYS loved the look of the Dutch braid but only ever could French braid. I’ve tried soooo many times but could never get it right. I’m literally in shock that i watched this video and I actually DID IT!!! 😭😭 Granted…I accidentally left one small strand one on the bottom. But my arms hurt and I got the rest right so I don’t care 😂 THANK YOU!!!
