Lol, while we were living in Kingston, back in the day, from time to time we would go to Mahoney district in St Andrew where my dad was from, and relatives would pack us up,with everything to take back to Kingston. The jackfruit, otaheti apples, hand-made chocolate for tea, you name it. We would go as often as we could. Miss those days. Yes, you guys had it right there.

Some people in Kingston, me at the top of the list, well want our own place a country. While I want to live in the country, some country people nuh like deh and waah come a Town.

@danello7 True, we were always connected to country although born and raised in Kingston... Mom from Top Hill St. Elizabeth, dad from Mahoney district, St. Andrew would take us to both parishes during the holidays. Country life was good and adventurous as we got to know our roots. I still have family members in both parishes and keep in touch. As children, my parents made sure we were connected with their humble beginnings.

keyword: country. was jus in kgn for a couple weeks, an a nuff time mi haffi hold back tears... US$20 for a medium melon, $1.50 fi one otahiti apple, $2 for a small pawpaw, $5 for a hand a bananas, $5 for a small pineapple. Why, Jamaica? I wouldn't even pay those prices for "organic" in the US. =(

So as a white lady its unacceptable to ask for help or food because then your frowned upon and called mad.. So Im sorry to say but I go hungry A LOT here trying to survive as everyone else. Many here bleach to match my skin color. All I want is to match theirs and feel equal for a change.... Blessings
