i can assure you he sung it live. Im his son. He told me the story how he drove down to sing it and came back in the same night and how it was no big deal at all.

Matt Cerisano I remember playing his record in Pa, in the 80s when I was DJ. Weren't they from close by? Maybe Morgantown, West Virginia? Great group.

I live not far from Fairmont and back then I too was playing in a local rock band. We were playing every weekend around Fairmont and had a good following. I was lead singer and rhythm guitar. One weekend shortly after this album came out the whole town was playing this song, along with another one from tho album, and I was both blown away and excited to learn Joe was a hometown guy and so damn good. His voice was perfect and all the influences I grew up with shined through his voice and range. I know basically what happened after that album and truly was upset. Joe’s voice was and is better than 95% of anyone’s voice on albums during that decade and even before. I put him up there with Steve Perry, Lou Gramm, and Jimi Jameson. (Survivor) Just hoping and wishing he is still healthy and singing. Great voice, great Italian family. (And yes I too am from Italian immigrants) ✌🏼

My Brother Bobby Gianetti was their bass player and background vocals--best band of the eighties! Joe Cerisano and group absolutely sang live every time they played on TV

I used to love this song back in the day! Still sounds great today. Long live the 80s!

This song can be found in the "CBS Love Songs Collection: Rock" cd. That's where I got my copy of this great tune. This is real music.

I watched Solid Gold religiously in the Navy, while stationed on the USS Hunley in Holy Loch, Scotland. Made the S3 guys pissed, but I got to know what was current, and loved this song back then. Just wish it were out on CD format.

To me, it is always been a mystery why Joe didn't have the success he deserved. My favourite voice of all time, so versatile, so smooth, so rich...

I proud that Joe is my cousin. I'm trying to make my living as a musician, too. I just turned 12, and you can see my first video.

He's actually singing live. Most bands on "Solid Gold" lip-synched, because the record companies wanted the viewers to hear the actual record. I'm pretty sure the music is pre-recorded, though.

@djdavemick Wow, 3 years later, the same holds true. A shame this song is in 80s oblivion.

I have yet to own this song in any form. Man, the early 80s had some great tunes that basically only Barry Scott (Lost 45s) would know about today. Practically the polar opposite of today's crap "music". BTW, that's the 5th Dimension's Marilyn McCoo introducing the tune on Solid Gold.

Featuring Fairmont, WV's own Joe Cerisano on lead vocals. Now just come up with a copy of "We're In Love"!!!

Well, against that argument I have nothing to say of course. I was wrong, then. Back in the eighties I listened to that song in an old 45'' single which was quite noisy. I recently downloaded the song and it still sounds great. Your father has fans as far as in Uruguay.

Great song...although until now, I thought the song was "You CAN Take My Heart Away" (a few searches confirms that it really is "could").

@actfray Nope, they're not singing live. The vocal performance is identical to the one on the record. Anyway, great vocals, sort of mixture between Steve Perry from Journey and Jimi Jamison from Survivor.

Not a strong song...Vocalist said in a book he didn't care for it, either.
