Somehow, I'm 2 ½ months away from being alcohol free for 7 years! I was still pretty raw at the 6 month mark. I still wasn't sure if it was going to last. After the 1 yr mark, things got a lot easier and the years started to pile up. Now, I have something to lose if I fail. I really like collecting the time. It's a sense of pride and accomplishment. You do meet others in this club, and the camaraderie is strong. We all root for each other. I realized that while I was drinking I was not present. I had no vision. Everything was muddled and hazy and I finally had enough. I was miserable to people I loved. I damaged relationships that I never had the time or a chance to repair. But, after I stopped drinking, I stopped humiliating myself, and therefore I was able to end the apology tour. I held myself accountable for the first time in my life, and that's given me power. Power that I never want to cede to alcohol ever again. Keep up your good work!

Thank you!! I love hearing this! I wasn’t binge drinking but I was going downtown a lot and drinking quite a few beers on the weekends. I wavered in and out of drinking to a ton to only having a few. Then a night of heavily drinking would occur and I’d be at my lowest of lows. I decided I do not resonate with the girl who drinks anymore and my behavior was unacceptable! I’m so happy I’ve been sober to really truly find myself and love myself again. I’m no longer ashamed or insecure of who I am now. I love the woman I blossomed into and I’m continuing to blossom! I’m making genuine friends along the way because I am no longer hiding from the world or running away like I had been! I am so proud of you! 13 days is a lot!!! You’re going to continue to grow past your wildest dreams!! Magical things will start happening in your life. Celebrate yourself in other ways. It is good to hear your story because when I go to AA the stories are all worse than mine and I couldn’t relate but I knew I needed to stop drinking. I feel so much better and I look better.
