After being challenged in the Temple precincts by the chief priests and elders of the people, by the disciples of the Pharisees and the Herodians, by the Sadducees, and again by the Pharisees, Jesus leaves the Temple and walks to the Mount of Olives. Jesus warns the disciples that the Son of Man will come at and hour they do not expect, and so they must stay awake. The parable of the wise and foolish bridesmaids is about vigilance.
