You Do Not Want to skip this Trail at HAWES! // Riding HIGH RIDGE at Hawes Trail System // Mesa, AZ

It took me a while before I finally rode the black diamond trail High Ridge. With awesome trails nearby like red mountain Rush, Pure ovaries and Iron Goat, it's easy to see how Iron Ridge can often get overlooked.
If you park at the OHV staging area, this trail forms a convenient 3 mile loop back to the trailhead. That's always a plus for me, especially on solo adventures. Overall, this is a really great trail with narrow, single track, sharp steep switchbacks and adrenaline- field descents. This trail adds to all of the great adventures I've had at the Hawes Trail System. So next time you're in the area be sure to take an extra lap to check this one out!

Like you, I too have wondered if that trail is directional, but as far as I know, at Hawes the only directional trail is Big Sister (although I’m frequently wrong 😂). Nice riding!👍🏻
