I purchased the same box about a year ago for an emergency response kit. It is a perfect size and the two slide back flip up storage areas are perfect for utensils and small stuff. I have a head light, flashlight, two oil lamps, a propane stove/ fuel, a lighter, a pot, a skillet, coffee mugs, paper towels, toilet paper, First Aid Kit, and a thermos etc. I live in Texas. The ice storm last year shut the power down for 6.5 days. This Kit was indispensable when the power failed. I had light by the oil lamps, and cooked a couple of meals a day on the stove and made hot water for the thermos for tea and coffee. I heat my home with propane. This Kit was invaluable.❤

wish I could just have a "box" in my truckbed.. like a wedge pop up.. without having to put a halfrack or roofrack and everything on it.. yea you'd lose out on some functionality of the bed, but gain some convenience.. just find it a bit weird that there aren't options like that. For just a simple 1 person pop up tent that fits in the back of a truck. EIther way, ordered this tent, cause I found it on the cheap. + a handful of large microfibre towels to put underneath the straps to try and protect the paint a bit.. wish there was a better way of securing the tent.
@ChenzosWorld3 күн бұрын
@@PilotPhteven I’ve found an option that might almost fit that bill. Over the summer I installed a roof rack to haul kayaks. That means I could no longer use the Napier truck bed tent. I found a tent on Amazon that fits the exact length dimensions of my truck bed and sets up only using two poles. It also matches the exact dimensions of my cot. When setup it essentially becomes a cot tent. Setup is easy and I don’t have to stake it down. I’m doing a review on it this week and I’ll drop a link if it interests you

Ha Ha, I stayed 3 nights starting Labor Day in your 2nd camping spot. Great views. We had coyotes and hogs come through 2 nights! Saw a big Tom turkey at the Rock Garden TH also! Loved the park and just 30 mins to town. All levels of biking and hiking. Upper and Lower Comanche were a blast but also are beast to bike. Hiked up Rock Garden then over to Fortress Point amazing and good bird and lizard watching 🙂also. I got lucky with no rain in canyon during my stay. The morning heading out it was storming like mad at the gate and toward Amarillo. Rain didn't stop till Oklahoma City! Great work on sharing your adventures.

Essentially it’s off-roading and dispersed camping combined. Atleast that’s how I understand it. Overlanders usually take the path less travelled to access remote campsites.
