First time one of these cylinders popped out while picking it was kind of an "oh wow" moment. #Lockboss

I work as a "locksmith" for a school district. I get work orders for these all the time. The core pops outs and they don't know what to do. Before I knew about the exraction key I found i could, often, jiggle any key that fit to unlock and remove the core OR use my pick set to remove it. Come to find out the ladies that work in the office are using the extraction key to unlock the file cabinets and are surprised by the fact the core come out.

#Lockboss awesome video. Great information. Cool tips because tomorrow I am going to go rekey 14 file cabinet locks. Customer wants 1 key to open all the file cabinet. Right now all 14 file cabinet are keyed different. Working on some Hon brand. Thanks for sharing this tips. Perfect timing 👌

Yes, #Lockbosstop. I would most definitely use this method preferably. Why spend money on control keys. It's just not worth it. And this method works great. I really like this one. Thank you for uploading. Looking forward to more of your videos. Very informative.

Great video PJ, this is exactly the same way that I have been doing it for over 30 years. It's great when all that you work with is Steelcase and have easy access to the plug removal keys, but in my real world, that has not been the case. I figured that out back when others were either walking away or reaching for a drill motor usually with catastrophic results. Great video showing how a #Lockboss does it!

Once again, a great practical video for us #lockboss folk! Of the calls I’ve had for these, I have always used my picks to remove the core and have had success, but I REaLLY like this idea. It is certainly faster! Thank you!

most of the time all the keys are lost so I have to pick them and use a pick to pull the core anyway. Have a few control keys haven't used them yet. Great info for a refresher or for anyone not familiar with these. #Lockboss

Great ! This will be very helpful for me, an HVAC tech by trade, but I work in a building where we tackle file cabinet and desk key situations on a regular basis. I have a few core keys for certain brands, but not all. This will be helpful Still learning all I can about desk, file cabinet and camlocks.

Actually I haven't ever had one of these plunger locks but I'm glad to get a pre-emptive look at how to take one apart if I have to. My question is do they usually take pretty standard wafers? Or do you need the National/compx type kit? #Lockboss

Yes, 99% of the time standard wafers will work -PJ
