Hard work, determination, focus, disciple. These are things many in society today shun, but are integral to personal success.

Great video buddy. I especially like the idea that learning to trade is like driving a car. Much like anything else it takes time and experience to become proficient enough. Ive barely even started trading yet because i wanted to focus on my education, but from what i can see, most people give up too quickly. It took me 15 years to get really good at guitar. What would make trading different

Very similar to guitar indeed! Excellent mindset to have!

E2 theLP oh I agree, I play the guitar for 20 years now, also, it took me 7 years before I became an expert in customer service and took a step in managerial position. This is similar in being a master at trading. Patience and discipline is the key.

Nothing was harder and took so long to do, than to trade at a profit. It costed a lot of losses before things turned around. They say that only 5% are successful traders. That is because those who fail, quit before the learning process is completed. 100% of those who endure the long painful learning process become profitable traders.

I also started winning on the demo account, but to me it was obvious it would not last. So I have not started trading yet as I knew that I was newbeginner. Now though I feel quite ready to start. To me it was no doubt. You just can't do this without sort of knowing the process first. Quite a few others don't view it that way. Too bad for them.

8:57 "Downplay your losses.." No way. You learn from losses, probably even more than wins. Don't get caught up with wins either! You can't sit there and obsess about it either way, that indicates someone who doesn't have the mental stability to trade, it's emotional trading, looking for the warm fuzzies. Leave emotion out of it as best you can, but downplaying losses is not the way to do it. Probably works for this trader. But that's the problem to, don't learn how to trade "like someone else," learn how to trade as yourself so that your personality and mental habits are part of the picture, you have to be you. These other traders will sell you a course but they surely aren't going to fund your account or come trade for you are they? Trade as you, not as someone else. For every successful trader there is a trading style, there is no one way to be successful. Learn the process, not the people. Why would I want to trade like one of these people? I"m glad they are successful, assuming they are. I'm not going to be making videos or trying to sell courses any time soon for the simple reason that I'm going to be trading. Judge a trader by his bank account, not how cool their video is, but even more important learn to trade AS YOU. Ultimately, you are NOT trading against strategies, or charts, or ratios, you are TRADING AGAINST PEOPLE. Learn to trade Forex is learning how other people trade, and how you respond to the larger trends caused by those habits. People trade Forex, not computers or charts or trends.

I've been backtesting strategy similar to yours but it only works for a couple of Pairs of currency for that year. The yield is quite low also. How to trade with that kind of strategy? Is it normal for a particular strategy to only work with a pair for that year only? Isn't this not feasible?
@DesireToTRADE6 жыл бұрын
That's going to be hard to trade long term... it's likely too optimized or not applied in the right context.
@CatandCook19896 жыл бұрын
@@DesireToTRADE I've not optimised it at all... Trading strategy is s/R on daily timeframe and trade Billinger bands and engulfing on hourly timeframe. Doesnt work for me. Have been getting poor results.
@DesireToTRADE6 жыл бұрын
How do you define engulfing? Where do you enter? How far behind have you been backtesting?
@CatandCook19896 жыл бұрын
@@DesireToTRADE hi thanks for your reply. Engulfing for me engulfs the body. I've been testing out in the year 2015

The misleading title can be a clickbait. We don't need to be a genius but we most certainly need to be emotionless, able to see algo and institutions' tricky movement to avoid wrong timing your order entries and immediately getting caught big time in the opposite direction by algo and the institutions. Those skills are the most difficult in the world and hard to learn for day traders. Also, real money trading is way different from demo trading. Don't waste too much time doing demo trading. It has not emotional training. Win rate is not important and easy to have a high win rate but still make overall big loss over a few weeks or months. Risk management and knowing when to use and not to use broker's high leverage are the most important skills. Technical skills are only 10%, 90% is emotion and the above. What we need to watch on KZbin channel is which CFD forex and CFD indices brokers are truly DMA ECN and STP brokers in action and not mere advertising words...words are cheap. That will helps a lot.
