Finishing this video while on a bus full of people has me looking at the passengers on it differently. Everyone here has a story, people they’ve loved and lost, and people they wish they got to know better. You really put the "bitter" in bittersweet with this one, but that sweet shines through just enough to tug at my heartstrings and put a tear in my eye. Phenomenal video, appreciate it man.

You definitely touched me and my life and made me cinfident in sharing little stories about my dead best friend again. I had felt like nobody wants to hear the old stories about him anymore since its been 8 years already, but you are so right that they live on through us and there is so much fun and wisdom to be shared through the stories I experiences with him. So in a way, you also touched his life without even knowing him or without him living while you are posting this video essay. Our interactions as humans are really a magical thing and I am so happy you shared your feelings in this essay. It really helped me, thank you a lot! Keep up the good work ❤

This video came out so well, I hope to also make something in the world that will stick with atleast one person. Going to school for game design, I've found a real joy in creating art from many mediums. But the nature of games feels like a needle in a haystack in succeeding, becoming the next Toby fox being the goal of any indie dev. But if I can may atleast someone happy with my work then I think it might be all worth it. You should be proud of this video and your work❤

Oh, I had thought I had seen all relevant Frieren videos. I was wrong. Thanks for the comparisons. Frieren hit me deep because of my grandfather and my own store that had a mere 10 year adventure with dozens of dear friends (1996-2006) Was a good time. Memories.

Fantastic video, it’s terrifying to think about this kind of stuff since it leads to questions that no one can actually answer. We never know how long our lives will last and you’ll never know what kind of obstacles you’ll face during your life or afterwards. Saying to “move forward” feels like too vague an answer, but when faced with an infinite amount of unknowns it isn’t possible to give a better answer. Just gotta do whatever we do best and hope that those around us take notice. At the very least I can promise you that you’ve affected how I view media as a whole and since fiction is a big part of my life I don’t think I’ll be forgetting your impact on me until I no longer exist.

Going to add on this my uncle died a little bit before Covid hit from a heart attack. My older brother was sleeping over while I was at home. When my parents told me I just started crying, I had just started to get to know him better and I wish I knew more about him. When his Ashes were buried all I could think about was how unfair life is. I barely knew him yet seeing that he impacted so many people made me want to make sure to keep his memory alive. I still miss him.

Good video. Great reflection of one's self. Regarding the episode with Old Man Voll, there is another moment that happens just before yours with Voll. Upon recalling the memory of Himmel during their first visit, she says, "I probably didn't need that collection of handsome poses after all." This is the first time a couple things happen in the series. First, she acknowledges them as handsome poses. Second, she's smiling while saying it. Also, Flamme's true grimoire that mentions conversing with the dead in Aureole during episode 4, is found in Voll Basin. Dunno if it's symbolic or related, but damn that amazing show for forcing us to look at all the little things.

Real sleek editing style you have right here. We know the world will inevitably move on, but what caught me off guard is not its pace, but the willingness to forego stuffs on the current. The lack of interesting to look back. Favoring consume rather than appreciate. And I guess we all know who's the few culprits. It is that I find it surprising that a show like Frieren is able to grab so many people together. It's like a slither of hope that once again made me want to believe people can still slow down and appreciate these themes, these sceneries and feelings. To this day it still show signs of life with fanarts and discussions after the show finished airing, but for how long? I dread to think about the day people forget about Frieren, including myself. I'm still only half way into the show yet I already found myself hard to proceed. Every episodes now feels so heavy, too precious to thread. Gonna make myself a hero to introduce more people to the name of Frieren in the coming, shallower times.

I like the little self reflection of will my videos still be here in 5, 10, 100 years. Honestly, I doubt they will be relevant that long, but that’s just life, what can you do. It matter that you make an impact now, even if people don’t recognize the impression you made later you did still make it. That would be enough for me.

I myself have personally hated the time, i always seen it as like a *murderer* then just a 'thing' i usually feel like "what i do is just going to end" but now that i see it, life and time moves on, it doesn't fade because it will always be inside someone's memory, I now think about it, I will at least be in a fragment of someone's life, a person will be remember even if they only helped a little.

This might come off as rude (perhaps it is), but I don't really understand where the sentiment of _"wanting to be remembered"_ comes from. I comprehend other things you mentioned, such as the burden of holding on to the memories of people who no longer exist, or how time is seemingly cruel and moves on; but _"afraid of being forgotten"_ is something I couldn't quite grasp. In Sousou no Frieren, Flamme and Himmel undoubtedly left a lasting impact upon the world but _"to be eternalized, remembered long after they pass"_ was never their sole reason of existing, it's not even their main goal. In fact both of them seem to welcome the fact that they are just another fleeting existence, Himmel despite understanding this full well still made those statues *not* for others to remember his deeds, it is purely for Frieren's sake (and that's why it's so romantic); he's just doing what the dying mother did in your Violet Evergarden example, it's a personal sentiment and not a grand dream of leaving a mark in the world. The story's message is to cherish the present, to not mull over too much about whether what you do matters, to be remembered, or not. Himmel did all sorts of seemingly worthless actions, yet all that matters is that he did what he wanted to do before it's over. To remain in people's memories, as both Flamme and Himmel proved, could very well be inconsequential. Nobody (except Frieren) truly remember who they are as a person, yet their echoes remains; being forgotten may not be as bad as you and many others thought.
