Well folks, you asked for it, and here it is. Another bee wrangling adventure with Wreck It Ralph and Mr. Ed. This time we find ourselves in Slidell, Louisiana, about 45 miles from the abbey, and in a residential area. I can always understand finding bees in rural settings when there's lot of acreage in woods and water, but right dab in the middle of a subdivision with nothing but brick homes surrounding it, that's a puzzler for me.
When I got the call about the bees, the homeowner told me she had seen a big ball of bees on the side of her garage one morning. Then, by that afternoon, they had gone away, she just did not realize they had crawled through a weep hole in the brick and took up residence in her garage. About 2 weeks later, as she was cutting her grass, she noticed a bunch of bees flying around the window in her garage and saw them going inside between the bricks, that's when she decided she had a bee problem and called me.
After locating the bees, and Ralph working his magic exposing the hive, we made short work of removing the comb and bees. I don't want to give any indication right now on finding the queen, you will just have to watch the video to find that out. I will say this, Ralph took the bees home with him, and they are doing fantastic. It's always a plus when a hive is relocated successfully and they prosper in their new environment, that's what I call Grace in Motion.
So grab your favorite cup or glass of liquid satisfaction, sit back in the chair, click the start button, and get ready to see Wreck It Ralph and I take on some garage bees. God's peace to all. Mr. Ed
