My buddies sister was heading to Peace River, at night, in a Triumph TR7 when she felt a bump that was odd. Upon arrival, she found a dent in roof of her car and moose hair stuck in the seams.

Had a buddy hit a moose 🫎 in Northern Ontario a few years back with a long hood Western Star. $60,000 damage. I think he was slightly over the posted speed limit 😂

Do the big push bumpers on the Brawler trucks tilt forward? I get on your truck you can access the engine from the sides and top. I don't get how it works on the trucks with a solid fiberglass hood.
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT14 күн бұрын
some do some dont, the w9 and t800 the top bar un bolts and folds down so you can open the hood, some have custom grills that aren't attached to the hood anymore, instead attached to the rad support. c5s with fiberglass hoods already come factory grill stays with rad when you open the hood

I recognize the name on the truck. he's a new canadian who NOW knows about Herd bumpers (hopefully) and not AliArc (those things fold like a cheap suit).

I remember when you hit that moose headed home from the patch i think it was out by Rocky Mountain House, you was like F*ck and pulled over to assess the damage then limped it home back to the shop then spent about an hour washing everything off. An you did wrap that bull guard backwards just a wee bit lol.

A few years back I had a unique opportunity to do a count of fresh moose tracks from one night , on moose row , Whitecourt to Valleyview. I drove through the night in a snow storm but it was a clear crisp morning. I new all tracks would be only hours old. In one night, in the north bound lane's ditch, 52 individual moose had walked out of the tree line. Only a few actually walked to the road or across it. In under twelve hrs, 52 moose on one side of the road. Does anyone know how many kilometers long is that northern Alberta moose row?

167 or something like that from Whitecourt to Valleyview. It's sure a lot better now that it's twinned compared to before. I just got better lights on my Western Star in October 2 days before missing a big bull North of Fox Vegas. You know it's close when you loose sight of him in front of your truck! ( unless you're a cattle hauler Pete- then you loose sight of him 100 yards out, because your seat is on the floor & the gear shift is 20 inches higher than your head! lol)
@unstablenester94117 күн бұрын
@lovesloudcars what's that all about anyway? Is it just a pete thing?
@lovesloudcars17 күн бұрын
@unstablenester941 i don't know. Sure seems to be a fairly accurate stereotype.

dam, that sucks. ive never really had a truck with no real bumper. when i creamed the moose with the moose catcher at 116 kph i thought for sure stuff was going to get wrecked way worse. we put 3 new headlights on that pete in one year, 2 deer, one moose. any sort of bumper is a good investment id say

i had the same bumper you talk of i think, was a steel not chrome with a moose catcher on it, bandit something on the cypris peterbilt i had for awhile. it held up to the only moose i hit in my life, plus 2 deer over a year. the moose was in between valley view and fox creek
