It's interesting that while Vox and angel are both being manipulated by Val, the power dynamic is very very different. In Angels case, Val is his boss. He can't afford to disobey him that much without punishment, and this might have been when he first learned that. Vox however, is an overlord in his own right, and a powerful one at that. He can leave Val without too many physical drawbacks, but it could cost him a lot of actual money because of Val separating from him. Parallel, yet different dynamics

It's crazy looking back at what fanon!Vox used to be. I'm really glad what we got what we have now with Vox being in charge and being Val's equal. Love their dynamic and it does more for Val's character rather than just being a guy who abuses everyone.

Since Vox and Val are work partners and on and off boyfriends and Val is Angel's boss, I think it's safe to assume Angel dislikes Vox as much as he dislikes Val. Vox is just as powerful as Val but doesn't do anything to help Angel or make things easier on him and if some things in this fanimatic end up being sort of canon to the actual Vox, Val, and Angel, Vox would even do things like get off to Val roping Angel. But I do agree that perhaps Angel fears becoming compliant enough that he just deals with Val's abuse and fools himself into thinking he loves him, like Vox potentially is. Also, I noticed Vox not being a flatscreen in the flashback, that was super cool.

When I first saw the animatic it made me fall in love with Val and Vox (as characters, not morality-wise), it's just so damn cool to see these kinds of interpretations of them outside of the official show (and not to mention more than a few seconds of screen-time)

I definitely believe Vox and Angel do not get along. While they are both subject to Valentino's abuses, and Vox does react in petty ways to Valentino's actions such as deleting Val's "Voxtagram account" when they broke up. At the same time, he is annoyed by Angel being Val's toy as it were. He knows Angel would rather be anywhere else than with Valentino, but without Angel, Val has no business. It wouldn't really surprise me if Vox participated in some of the Angel abuse. Particularly since this animatic has him sitting back really enjoying Angel getting R'd into submission. And then at one point, Angel's eyes seem to turn towards the camera that is watching this and gets this hate-filled glare that screams Vox is watching him being humiliated at that moment.

I really did squee when I saw this up. Thank you. Again I personally wasn't upset about the Paranoid DJ cuz I luv u both, I just wanted ur input on the visual story as well. In fact I'm grateful because we got to hear ur take on the song by itself😁 I also think that Angel and Vox r more indifferent towards each other. Vox is more Alister's antagonist and Val is Angel's. I couldn't see the hangout or fighting without thise 2 involved. In the video Vox wasn't really going against Angel he was just protecting Val. I think its just weird that people want Vox and Angel to get together just because they have the same problem. 🤓

Aaa im so glad you watched this, it really is beautiful! But i wouldn't call it an Angel vs Vox situation. I believe it's simply Angel detesting Valentino and plotting to finally kill him, but Vox monitors him and succumbs to his feelings for Val in order to rat Angel out. Valentino of course punishes Angel for his intentions and Vox lets himself embrace the arousal watching such a fowl scene gives him. You could say surveillance is something he's into .. And yet all the while, he also feels some dismay towards Valentino because Valentino clearly likes Angel ALOT. It's a bunch of clashing emotions!

Yeah, Raphaelle II, or Arielle Somerville, is one of the storyboard artists who works on Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. I'd love to see this get made into a full animation, but I know it won't because there's no way they'd get rights to use the song and monetize the video in any way. Yes they could do a cover of it; but 1) I don't think it would be as great, and 2) Voxx doesn't really have a voice and if they planned on having him be mute or something, the animation would ruin future plans and series.

The biggest difference between Vox and Angle is that Vox is in love with Val and Angle hates Val to point that he wants to kill him, as seen in this fanimation. Both versions, this and DJ's, have some canon (headcanon, maybe) in them. I think they can sympathize with eachother (kinda) in that, that Val is abusive to both of them, but in Eyes On Me by Paranoid DJ, Vox says that he's in love with Val despite all of the pain, Val treats everyone as his property, even Vox, his boyfriend, but Vox is blinded by the love and doesn't relize that, plus, Vox and Val have some kind of deal, you can see it in this fanimation and it's in Eyes On Me too. I don't know if it's canon or not, but it's my and other fans headcanon, also, it's only my opinion, you don't have to feel the same

@@MonsterGul I wrote that before the show, plus, there's Insta of most characters and on Vox's, I think on his, is a picture where he has broken screen as shown in Eyes On Me, so I think it is canon, or at least it was when the Insta is not fanmade as far as I know, I might be wrong since it's few years since I seen it, but they seem happy so far in the show, which can change since we didn't see them much together (Vox and Val)

On the comment about not being sure if Viv and crew have even decided on Vox's voice: I'm pretty sure one of Viv's tweets a few weeks ago implied that either end-of-December/early-January would be the release of Hazbin (obviously she didn't say it outright, but it was something to the effect of "Get ready to see what's beyond the Hazbin's doors soon!"). My current understanding of the release (someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this, or if something else is more likely) is that it would be the entirety of Season 1 of Hazbin being dropped on whatever service A24 is showing it on, and since I'm like 90% sure Vox is one of the main antagonists, I'd be surprised if this late into things there isn't a Vox voice yet. (Side note: If I'm remembering right, before the Hazbin Pilot dropped, Viv made a video with, like, her headcanon voices for characters? If I'm not mistaken, I think she envisioned Vox sounding like one of the voices Mark Hamill does/did, so the in-canon Vox might sound like someone doing a Hamill impression of some kind)

@@ChibiCherub Point yes, but Angel could loose money, fame, and his reputation at least a little of that. But Vox has the power to leave Valentino and he gets money on his own. But Vox is stuck in a situation of a toxic abusive relationship. He has issues with being alone that he makes excuses for why he falls back in the unhealthy behavior of sticking around. Believing he can't or can change and still taking the physical abuse and feeling trapped in his ability to brake free from his controlling grasp. That is exactly what Angel is facing. He can choose the Hotel and be in control of himself, but he's stuck in a contract that justifies the abuse. Even if he wants to run away he has no stable power or money to fall back on or a safe place to hide from Valentino when he comes for him running away. One has power to leave but won't choose the path to leave; while the other took the path but is facing the danger of lack of almost any power.

@@autumntaylor2133 i dont think you understand exactly the situation angel is in. Valentino OWNS Angel. Vox's situation is nowhere near as bad as angel's. While Vox's relationship with Val is unhealthy, Vox is not owned by Val and he is free to leave it at any point with no other consequence other than monetary. We see NO indication of physical abuse toward Vox from Valentino, as that would be bad business. We only see manipulation, really at most. They are an on and off again, admittedly unhealthy couple but Vox is an overlord too, just as much as Valentino. He could destroy Val. Vox IS being manipulated and the relationship is abusive in the manner of being unhealthy on both ends but it is worlds different than Angel's situation. Angel is a prisoner. He is assaulted as a punishment for messing up and we saw him assaulted in this video. He is Valentino's personal toy. Angel could lose his LIFE going against Val.

@@ChibiCherub True but it has been stated on the official fandom website and Facebook accounts for Vox. That he has had to replace his broken TV screen head multiple times. Because of Valentino and he just doesn't want to be seen with broken merchandise and has him replace it as quick as possible without being seen. I understand the business is a major reason too, but if Vox has the power to stand up for himself. Why doesn't he? Why are they on and off again if they try to get out from under his thumb. He comes back because it'd be inconvenient otherwise. Yet Angel has everything to loose and that makes loads of difference. But they are trapped, one has no choice and the other is by their own volition trapping himself mentally even with power.

@@ChibiCherub where are people actually getting this information, though? This video isn't canon and was confirmed by the creator to be mostly headcannon. On the Instagrams, we see implied physical and emotional abuse only from Valentino. The Instagrams aren't canon but allegedly show canon character dynamics. Where was it stated, other than the instas, that Vox and Valentino were on and off? I think Faustisse said that there was no romantic connection in the relationship, and I think Vivzie said that Vox and Valentino respect each other, so abuse at all doesn't really make sense (even if it is heavily implied). This fandom is extremely confusing to be in and I honestly have no idea what's even going on anymore :(

I'm pretty sure Valentino doesn't love poor Vox at all and they're all about sex and owning them. Unfortunately, Vox has only himself to blame for putting up with everything from Val, treating him like dirt and not appreciating anything Val does for him. It is not said for nothing that love is blind. Vox is a lot stronger than Val, I think he's the most powerful overlord next to Alastor. So he could really mess up Val with lightness, but he doesn't because he's being manipulated in exactly the same way by him. And Angel hates Val......but still succumbs to the illusion that Val has a thing for him, which isn't the case. After all, he only describes it as his property, his toy, as an object with which he can do whatever he wants.
