You HAVE Esuna - FFXIV

I was lucky enough to become a healer after reaching shadowbringers, so i never had to deal with not knowing what esuna is... but some people do have to go through that moment of learning.
and in ffxiv you can even find healers who KNOW what esuna is, but REFUSE to use it. which is awkward...

I think the best part is that we are shown what his bar looks like, and all this whm got is Glare, Holy, Afflatus Misery, and Res. He’s clearly got room. He can’t even use Afflatus Misery either because he has no lily spenders on his bar. Its actually brilliant.

Sometimes Doom needs to be removed as a mechanic, either by doing a mechanic that clears it, or healing someone, or some other more esoteric means. Sometimes Doom is the failure of a mechanic and you get an out. Sometimes Doom is the failure of a mechanic and you have no way of getting out.

@@DracoSuave facts, i think the wandering palace hard one from final boss is by being full health. The one from the world of darkness is by stepping on a circle of light. Getting three stacks of thrice come ruin from certain raids and instances like asphodelos 4th circle and delubrum reginae gives you doom that will kill you instantly.

Time saving mean you can play more, dont waste other people time by dragging duty, everyone wants to play more content because not everyone has all the time in the world

Funny thing, one of the level 90 dungeons has an Esuna Doom, which looks nothing like an Esuna Doom, just as a little curve ball to keep you on your to- aaaaand the healer/dps just died to it.

It's in The Dead Ends Dungeon, one of the bosses does a move that follows the winds direction, giving a green-blueish debuff called Necrosis that acts just like Doom.

@@soldierorsomething it's a really good utility and escape tool if you aggro too many guys on solo stuff, if it works it's basically a 25 second stun it's quite literally slept on, i use it (or similar spells) in Blue Mage grinding as i collect the spells

One instance on a low level dungeon, (forgot the name, I think it was Halatali) where during a mob pull, the Tank went down, then the Healer. I popped a Swiftcast Sleep and me and the other DPS was able to 1v1 each add till the Tank and the Healer came back.

Even though I'm a Unga Bunga Warrior, Even when Played as a Unga Bunga White Mage I use Esuna because I remember the pain of being forgotten and left for dead with DOOM! So make sure you ALWAYS have Esuna and at the ready because you don't want anyone else to suffer the same way I did. Do you?

Oh, very nice to know! I have played as healer, and used my own stat removal on Bard, but for some reason I never knew about the little bar indicating that Esuna could remove it, I usually just memorized which ones needed Esuna/Other removal, or required full heal. I'm presuming if Esuna works on it, so does Warden's Paean. Thank you for that. That will make is easier to know which technique is needed in fights going forward.

Always remember this as a healer: a dead party member is a larger dps loss than spending time to heal them. The dunce cap of minus -25% damage or so(or if they die twice -50% damage) for a full minute is much worse for dps than you using esuna once

I just went thru this today except my healer's excuse was "Lol I'm on controller don't have room". This was at the Dead Ends. LVL 90 AST, no esuna on hotbar...

If i have an esuna-able doom I will spam the party chat with "esuna please" I don't care if it's toxic, I never stopped using esuna on any healer I played, the only one I can kind of give slack for not having space bar room for it is sch.

I've seen people actually say raising someone without swiftcast is a dps loss. As if I'd rather the healer casting glare than picking up at least one of the corpses littering the floor.

more than four spells is awkward, like if your hand is resting on wasd then you really have to stretch to press 5, and 6 is way out of the question

Fun fact: Esuna used to be an optional ability. In Stormblood they gave role actions as a "pick 5" sort of thing, which meant that you had healers who chose to take something like Cleric Stance instead of Esuna.... Which usually meant in instances like Exdeath where he casts doom in the first few seconds of the fight, you'd have two DPS suddenly dead on the floor because NEITHER HEALER had Esuna. Good times. i've been playing this game since heavensward and I've never noticed the line 💀 May be because it's rather small I usually just send out a test esuna to see if it would work or not, but thanks for this video! Now I know to look out for it
