I was in the auto body repair business for 30 years and I've been using my sander like this for years. One thing you should do is move the file/sander around more to help keep the sanding dust from balling up under the sand paper. The main use of a sander like this in the body shop is for sculpting body filler on damaged metal and befor that it was used with a metal file attachment when the guage of the metal was thick enough to actually repair dents without having to use any filler material. From Leo: I have experience with the auto body shaper. They come with a single air piston/spring, and dual air piston. Spend a little more for the dual air piston, it is smoother running and more consistent, especially if you want to lower the air pressure and run slower.

Looks like this could be used for fret leveling also but you would have to be careful or you could end up with a fretless neck.

Make a Box that is narrow so the radius block can not move side to side one back and forward. The sides of the box are only as tall as the block but short enough to allow easy unobstuctive holding of the pneumatic sander.

does this sander eat as much air as a DA orbital type sander. meaning if you have a small compressor your going to run out of air fast then wait for compressor to keep up .. just a thought...

@@TexasToastGuitars Steve is a great guy man, I asked him for 2 radius blocks a 12 and a 16, then about 3 days later he sent me cad drawings of them. 5 days later I had them and he released the video of this awesome new way of sanding a radius. I've asked him for some decently customized templates and he's been able to do everything I've asked for, even better than what I asked for. He's an innovator man, and he builds killer guitars too! I know he appreciates you guys helping spread the word.

Oh by the way watch your finger placement so you don't get them caught between the mounting screw for the attached tool and the front and back of the sander because that thing Will smash your fingers a bunch of times before you move it out of the way.

Soooooo, if its a bolt on neck. Mount that contraption with the block facing up. Put the neck on top and hold the neck. Should be much easier, offer more control and you can see if your in the centre. Thanks for the video, I was laughing out loud.
