Nothing more soothing than watching bigger pieces of wood turn to art. 👍

Thanks Matt. I was wondering why you didn't cut the headstock angle with the band saw first. And then you did!

It's easier to let the pin router mark it first

Question: how would one angle the headstock with a regular hand router or router table? Your pin router seems to be a real game changer.

Great work. Would love to see videos on fixing mistakes. Maybe how to deal with router mistakes, miss drilled holes, paint mistakes, ops I made my fretboard to thin. That kind of stuff.

Another excellent video. At what point do you make the end of the headstock perpendicular to the face of the headstock?
@TexasToastGuitars3 жыл бұрын
We do not do that, see also the Gibson Les Paul

As usual you have great videos at the right time. I actually did my truss rods routs first while my sides were square. Looks like I need to make a 7% ramp… thanks again and again

@@TexasToastGuitars wish I had a pin router! Did your technique with a good sharp router bit in a drill press after making a 7 degree block and using it to guide my band saw and level my price under the router. It was slow and rough but with the help of a sander it was perfectly level. 3 angled headstocks in an afternoon. Thanks man

Why do the large manufacturers seem to prefer Sapele over African Mahogany for necks? The cost is similar. Is it because it's harder and potentially more stable?

What is the meaning of it? It's just something I say at classes when it's time to shape necks. One of the students made a shirt for me with the quote
