This had nothing to do with the Church, this is just a regular man who can sing very well, but he's not primarily a singer! And most churches would run him out the doors when he hit metal mode. I've been waiting for your reaction to this masterpiece. I knew you would love it. Did you have 2 channels going at the same time, it sounded like there was a strong echo? Yeah, let's give Victor some love - he's awesome. I LOVED the bluesy riff he makes there in his short solo. People who judge this as satanic, just because of the growl and the shaking camera, obviously haven't understood the lyrics, and certainly don't understand metal, and mostly they haven't got a clue where Dan is coming from.

First half was baby Jesus in a manger, the second half was the majesty of the warrior, savior King that Dan pays such powerful homage to with his metal vocals and raised arm. CHRIST IS THE LORD, OH PRAISE HIS NAME FOREVER.. I was honestly glad you did not stop after the growl, your laughter was much more appreciated than stopping and questioning. Thank you. Admittedly, the growl was not my favorite part but I know Dan put immense energy into it and into this entire rendition! I deeply appreciate his vision. I loved your reaction. A year ago, I would not have understood or enjoyed this very much. Last April I "met" Dan on his Amazing Grace Video and it has been 8+ months of getting to know his style of metal-infused music and I am a fan for life. I especially love the fact that you talked about Victor so much. He is in a band that does Satanic and Dark Metal which is not to my liking. BUT there are many sides to artists and they can use their talents however they wish. His guitar work is top-notch whatever he plays. Please check out 2 of his U Tube videos. He did a very short acoustic piece this year of Silent Night which could be put on a loop and send you into a heavenly sleep. Also please listen to "Harmonics" (Live from Loftet"). In it he speaks about his musical passion and describes the song they play that he wrote. It is mesmerizing. I think he has a lot more to offer the world and needs all of his admirers to help support him. I love your thoughtful remarks about all different genres if music. Metal is not demonic. And it never has been. Any genre of music can be used to worship the devil, just like any can be used to praise Christ. Many metal band members are religious, and many metal bands have specialized in Christian music - which they certainly wouldn't do if this music were satanic.

There are just too many people who are close-minded about many things, including thinking that metal music must be satanic primarily because it includes screams or growls. These people generally accept what someone else tells them and they don't do any of their own research or listen to this music before forming their opinions. The issue is they then spread these lies, which can hurt those of us who listen to metal regularly. I have listened to metal for my 30 years, and find most other forms too tame, with too little variety. In a word, with some notable exceptions of course, I find most music outside metal to be boring. And the music I enjoy includes Christian metal, but my Aunt truly believes my soul is lost because of my music choices. And she's not my only family who believes that metal - and even some rock - is demonic. These stereotypes persist despite having no basis. Those who believe that the Harry Potter book series is satanic have a similarly closed mindset. With his music, particularly his version of Amazing Grace, Dan has successfully expanded his audience from metalheads and rockers to older and more mainstream listeners. In this success, he has done more to dispel these harmful stereotypes than anyone else I know. It is well known that he is a Christian. And he sings metal in what can be described as respectful - or even reverent - toward a song's subject matter. He even became teary while singing Amazing Grace. I do believe that some who did think metal was not good for one to listen to have changed their minds because of Dan. And he certainly has busted the widely held opinion that metal singers can't actually sing! Take care, and Merry Christmas!

This is unusual, but full of energy and at the end , I loved the way he punched that beautiful big note. The way he sang that last part was so strong and I thought “what a tribute to God. “ This is the way I think a heavenly choir would sing it. My body and mind are still feeling the energy and power It felt like a celebration of Holy Night and is truly inspiring. I think the reason Hyms are so soft and quiet is because ordinary people cannot sing it this way. Dan celebrated the power and Majesty of God in a way that I loved seeing. That is the way I would like to sing it. Victor wascawsome too. They complement each other, making this as Epic and Joyful.
