Those beginning scenes with Kreese trying to choke out Johnny were shot with the intent that it would be the end of the first movie, but for whatever reason, they cut it from that movie and used it for the beginning of this movie. For whatever reason, it works.

Mr. Miyagi honking Kreese’s nose establishes the precedent for Daniel doing the same to Chozen 😂

Actually, although that scene was written for KK1, it was never shot in 1984. When KK2 started filming (2 years later) in 1986, they brought the cast back to shoot that scene (from the cutting room floor). The reason I know that scene was shot years later, is because "Dutch" Chad McQueen, who had bleached blonde hair, in KK1, is seen here, with a wig on. He's trying to cover it up with the baseball cap. He's a natural brunette, so they had to try to make him look the same as KK1. But if you pause it focus on him, you can see the wig. And there are other subtle differences if you put screenshots of the Cobra Kai members (from KK2) next to KK1. Like Jimmy (the brunette), in KK1 he had bangs... his hair in KK2 parking lot is combed back in a different style.

This movie sets up a lot of prequel and sequel possibilities if they want to continue the Miyagi-verse. There is so much that can be explored in future movies or TV shows with Daniel, Mr. Miyagi, Sato, Chozen and Kumiko.

We were saddened to hear that Season 6 will be the last but also excited for the future of the Miyagiverse. A series exploring the past of some of the Okinawa characters would be an excellent idea!

We know Pat Morita was a stand up comedian before all this and tv roles on sitcoms (Happy Days). That's why they almost didn't consider him for the role of Miyagi. But he pulled it off.

I lived in Hawaii when they filmed this movie there in the 1980s. I remember seeing the movie set from a distance at night, but was too busy going to school and working to try to visit the set. If I had a time machine, I would go back to that time and try to meet Pat Morita, Ralph Macchio, Yuji Okumoto (Chozen) and Tamlyn Tomita (Kumiko). Of course, at the time, I would not have known who Yuji Okumoto or Tamlyn Tomita were and that they would later become successful and star in some good movies (Tomita in "Joy Luck Club") and TV shows (Okumoto in "Walker, Texas Ranger") in their own rights.

Yeah, it was pretty dumb to let the girl ring the bell during the storm. Fun fact: The girl who played Yuna, the bell ringer, was Traci Toguchi, who later became Miss Hawaii 1995-1996. She recently ran for Honolulu City Council Member, but I think she was not elected.

@@kai_masters Not only that, but also when Traci Toguchi was 9 years old, she won a karaoke contest in the Taikai division. The word Taikai will mean something in the "Cobra Kai" universe, but not until season 5. There is a lot of other stuff that future episodes will tie in to interesting real life situations, but I don't want to spoil it for you. Maybe I can comment when you get to those episodes.

Chopping the six blocks was what Daniel wanted to do during the demonstration at Valley Fest, but Cobra Kai came along and stole Miyagi-do's thunder during the "Fire and Ice" episode of "Cobra Kai" in season 2.

Sato knew right from wrong. Foolish pride took over and he claimed he was dishonored. Mr. Miyagi did the honorable thing by not fighting. In the end Sato's life was saved. He learned about true Honor and Friendship.

The flashbacks are not season = film, this is why watching and remembering all the movies will give you context to all of them. 8:50 Andrea just made my point, you remember the drum, all memories and stories are like the movies flashbacks as well, the Cobra Kai show is not season per film... WOW, I love the music in this one, even more the music of the first movie, which is saying something...

We appreciate your great suggestion but we’ve already filmed a few episodes of Season 3 for our Patreon subscribers. If we had a do-over, we may have watched and reacted to the films before the show, but I think it’s also interesting to see the movies afterwards to gain a new perspective on childhood memories as we had watched all three films as kids. Daniel isn’t a bully but he definitely sticks his nose into other people’s business. Like how he accuses Chozen of cheating the villagers and intervenes in the argument between Ali and Johnny. Those actions, while somewhat noble, put a target on his back unfortunately.

I am Daniel Larusso I would of done the same thing and for the hose on johnny at the dance Daniel shouldn't of did that but he probably felt like that needed to be a I'll meet your eye to my eye bud type of deal and when he punched Johnny's friend at the soccer game is because Johnny's friend tripped him by kicked his foot and made him fall and that's when Daniel punched him in the face Daniels actions is eye for an eye and self defense so is Samanthas and Amanda's and them making Anthony his son the bully In cobra kai was terrible writing that's all I have to say on that and terry silver and kreese thing regardless who was at fault they should handle that with another adult like Daniels parents or miyagi they shouldn't torment torture and harass and traumatize Daniel their adults hes a child he's done nothing wrong to any one in cobra kai especially silver and kreese as I said especially on kreese and silver even if Daniel did do something to kreese and silver their adults handle it with his parents or sensi and leave the child alone .. I don't feel sorry for any of them or chozen .. they all started it Daniel did whatever he needed to to finish it .. I've done all what Daniel and Amanda and Samantha and miyagi has done throughout karate kid 1,2,3 and cobra kai series what theyve went through we have how they respond is jow me and my mom respond to things .. thats why im in defending mode when it comes to the larussos .. theres no reason for any of the larussos bullys or villians actions have they probably had trauma or a hard life yes and maybe but everyone has a sob story doesn't give you a right to be a terrorist murderer shooter or bully ... All bullying is is reverse psychology to me ... They want to make someone they feel may be happier then them feel like they feel they want to do them how they feel others have done them that's all bullying is and that's all all of cobra kai and chozen did to Daniel and his family and miyagi
