@@sadiemorgan4389 Even without Dream, there would be strife. Dream made Tubbo choose, but in the end it was Tubbos choice to exile Tommy. Dream bribed Eret to betray, but in the end it was still Eret's choice. Dream gave Wilbur TnT, but it was still Wilbur's choice to push the button. Yes, Dream put the option in front of them and pushed them to choose, but the decisions were still theirs and were decisions that are expected of a leader. Almost every person in power has had to make a choice, and even without Dream this would wind up happening. Dream was the instigator but they still had free will and a choice. A hard one, but still a choice. Phil doesn't want anyone else to be forced to make those choices, and he understands that in a world like theirs, that means that governmental rulership cannot be allowed. It is a burden leaders must carry.

@@grey8288 the reason they founded L'Manburg was to try and free themselves from Dream's power, but Dream wanted total power and control so he manipulated them against each other in order to tear them down and corrupt whatever freedom they tried to build. Phil realizes power corrupts even those with good intentions, and that the solution to getting away from Dream's power isn't to establish a different power that will just become corrupt in the future.

@@Flanneryschickens They wanted to make drugs. Dream said no drugs. They fought for the right to make drugs. It morphed into so much more, but it did start out as a drug van. And, even though Dream offered them choices, up until recently most decisions have been made knowing the sides. Eret was made an offer, but he knew exactly what he was doing. So did Wilbur, and so did Tubbo. Dream pushed a choice, but it was still theirs to make (until recently when Dream started framing people). If Dream had let them keep their drug van, there would be no L'manburg, no need to go against the rest of the SMP, no need for independence. There would be no government, and there would be peace (but no drama, which is the main feature of this server).

I love Phil's quiet resolve! Like, think about it, Ghostbur talks about how he was seen as a hero/saint for killing Wilbur. But for Phil, that was probably the single worst moment of his life. He had to kill his own son because of how the messed up country and government drove Wilbur to insanity. His reasons for destroying L'Manberg are justified, and I feel like people forget that when faced with Ghostbur's tears. Phil isn't being cold or dismissive... he's grieving and in pain, and still figuring for what he believes is right

As far as I know, it's the exact opposite. A government has authority over other people, techno's syndicate doesn't has a leader, everyone is on the same level. In l'manberg if you didn't cooperate, it was consider a crime punished with arrest, in techno's syndicate you have the freedom to choose to help or not.

Quackity wanted power, so as long as the butcher army exists, he would be granted power over the rest (let it be having an "army" o just peer pressure). I really don't believe quackity wouldn't have taken advantage of that if he had the chance. But, I guess we'll never know.

OKAY SO I KNOW THAT THIS WAS MADE A WHILE AGO AND SOMEONE ELSE HAS PROBABLY ALREADY POINTED THIS OUT BUT I LOVE THE SYMBOLISM IN THE COLORING OF THE CHARACTERS in the beginning, ghostbur has bright colors on his clothing, while everyone else is basically all grays. throughout the animatic, ghostbur slowly loses color, until the end when he is just as drained of color as everyone else. my idea is that everyone else is used to things like this happening, and they’ve basically already lost hope, i guess? however, ghostbur was still good, he was doing what he could to help people, he kept people’s spirits up, and at least on the outside, he appeared happy, or at least positive, most of the time. however, this was the last straw for him. the place that he spent so long working on, that was so important to him and many others, is gone (and this is the second time that has happened to him). friend was killed (at least temporarily, there are many theories surrounding friend), and his hope and positivity is smothered. so, his color is too, and thats why when we see him asking tommy to bring him back, he is basically completely grays, because he has reached the low point that everybody else is either at or has been at. i’ve never done this sort of paragraph response to an animatic, and i know like nobody will see this, but i just was watching this and felt like I had to point this symbolism out, because it was so beautifully used in this animatic
