Hi. I recommend watching "Desolate" again before you see this one so you have an idea of where I left off. I wanted someone to be able to watch all three in a row and have them link up timeline-wise.
Song this time around is "Line of Sight" by ODESZA. I had a few others I was tossing around but this is the one that stuck. I really hope you enjoy this one, these big projects are very draining.

dream being the puppet master is honestly one of the darkest characters i’ve seen in any story, period. most villains have tunnel vision, but dream somehow managed to win every major conflict without getting involved and simply by pulling the strings. his character was genius, but it’s his own cockiness that bit him in the end. really well made villain, 10/10.

I love how the red keeps shifting depending on perspective, signifiying that not everything is as simple as right or wrong. From tubbo and tommy's perspective, techno is in the wrong. Meanwhile, from technos view, he was betrayed by tommy, after all techno did for him since his exile, and dare I say he had finally started to trust someone other than philza before tommy ruined it all. Meanwhile, there's one character who is inherently in the wrong, the cause of it all, dream. You can see that his red is brighter when he is on the mountain, signifying how more and more people are beginning to realise how he is in the wrong. I love the scenes with ranboo and how the colors keep keep shifting, showing his internal conflict. Especially the glitching when he finds the disc, its the first time he really believes what he'd been telling himself with the voice of dream this whole time. There's another side of him, and it's working with the one person who he KNOWS is the reason for all the trouble in the land. Loved it, 11/10, im gonna be here for months lmao I'm also a fan of ghostburs slight red shift and the fact that in his scene where he found jschlatt, they were both solid red and blue, showing ghostburs absolute purity and the fact that schlatt is nature's way of cruelly balancing the scales (matpat explained this theory and wilbur hinted at it being true in his reaction).I am also a huge fan of how the discs are always red, because they've been the reason for almost all conflict on the server upto this point. Do I even need to talk about the strings with dream, and tommy finally taking away all the power dream has over him? Its amazing. Again, lovely animation.

The color red pops up on every character at least once, and that's what makes the Dream SMP so fascinating! Because nobody is the clear 'good' or 'bad guy', they're all just characters doing the best they can. :)

i took the second one, since this is mostly from tommy's pov, that techno giving him the axe to 'you always seemed so kind' was him reflecting that gifts meant nothing when the person giving them is only giving you conditional love, and will stop caring for you once you're no longer with them, and they'll punish you for it.

It can show both povs, since techno and dream turn red and Tommy and tubbo turn red next, indicating the two of them are looking at each other and seeing one another from each other's perspectives. It can be both their povs in this case. edit: plus, the dream smp doesn't treat Techno that way so I don't think this creator would either. Techno never acted like he was giving Tommy "conditional love", in fact it was the opposite way around. Only when Tommy betrayed Techno did Techno lose respect for Tommy. And even in Techno's will he holds no animosity towards Tommy. It was never conditional love with him, but conditional respect, which is supposed to be conditional. If you betray someone, you lose their trust. So in this instance, it's definitely referring to Techno being betrayed, imo.

That's one of the reasons I dislike the arbitrary "3-life rule". It gets in the way of having natural gameplay moments become awesome story moments (which I would argue is sort of the point of the server). I understand the need for a life system, if characters can die and come back infinitely then there's no stakes (if you ignore the fact that the dead can just keep playing on the server as a "ghost" lol). I think the solution lies not within how many lives someone has, but rather how serious that death is. If someone dies from fall damage randomly, that can be canon. Maybe it just "chips away" at their soul a little. But the big hits take larger chunks away from their soul. That would explain characters like Wilbur and Schlatt actually staying dead (until something meaningful can restore their soul). Tommy can survive a lightning strike because his soul is near indomitable. Take Phil for example. Maybe he started off with the same soul energy as everyone else. But the trauma of IMMEDIATELY having to murder his son weakened his soul SO MUCH that a SINGLE death would kill him for good. that's some hardcore shit right there (sorry) It would also explain how Tommy's victory over Dream to secure the future for his friends would emotionally allow Wilbur's soul to temporarily return to the physical world. Consider that Technoblade started off emotionally shut off. Never allowing anyone or anything to chip away at his soul. "Technoblade never dies". Eventually however, he made some genuine connections with Phil and Ranboo. Now that Tommy has "betrayed" him, he's probably a bit more vulnerable. Imagine if Phil dies, or when Ranboo's connection with Techno is inevitably shattered in a dramatic way. Technoblade will probably die. That'll be a meme for awhile. F. TL,DR: *theory* Maybe all deaths are canon, and the severity of the death (physically or emotionally) affect the player's overall soul energy. I provided some cool examples too

This has become my comfort animatic as of late... I remember joining the community during the pogtopia days... staying up way past midnight binge watching old vods trying to catch up... The absolute roller coaster of emotions the characters took me through. I started watching the dsmp after already seeing dreams manhunts, and so I was very conflicted once I started seeing his charecter in lore. Brought me, and so many of you through some of the greatest and worst times in our lives. Thank you for this beautiful work of art. Thank you for the memories, old friends. he’s a half enderman/half unknown creature. He used to be part of lmanburg, and was gonna run for president before it blew up. He had to choose sides in the later conflicts, and he chose to be neutral with Phil and techno (he joined the attic commune because they were kind to him) . Oh yeah he has silk touch hands and has a dream voice in his head that manipulates him. He also is known for having horrible memory and remembering nothing , so he has a memory book. Hope this covered it.

I can’t get over how good this is!! The doomsday fight scene was so fluid and I love how well the song matches up! Like, at 0:40 “You always seem so kind” when Techno is giving Tommy the Axe of Peace, foreshadowing his struggle with Techno and their betrayal. 1:46 “will you help me die” when they’re trying to revive Wilbur is scarily fitting. At 2:00 with Ranboo “It’ll all be fine”, matches his denial and stream names, immediately followed with 2:06 “You always seemed so kind” with Jack Manifold, who’s planning on killing Tommy. The symbolism of the red and “the enemy” is so lovely!! Here’s some analysis! 0:23 Really neat effect for Ranboo here, it really incapsulates his dilemma in such a punctual manner. Red and green are his colors, but the red could also represent the enemy within himself. 0:55 here we’re looking from Tommy’s perspective and we see Tubbo with a red tie. Tommy never hated Tubbo, never saw him as the true enemy, that’s why he’s not fully red, but he stood in opposition to Tubbo and the red is there. 1:01 the disc becoming red as Tommy realizes that his obsession with them has become toxic and that is his true enemy 1:05 as Dream sides with Techno, Tommy comes to view both of them, even Techno, as his enemy 1:07 similar to above, as Tommy sides with Tubbo, Techno comes to see them both as his enemies 1:09 the red on Ranboo as he is exposed as a traitor, alienating him from all his friends. However, the red flickers in and out, no one truly sees him as an enemy (except maybe Quackity) but Dream’s influence still taints him, even if only to himself 1:15 the fire burning the L’Mantree being a vibrant red as Niki burns down the symbol of a nation she once loved but now views as her sole enemy 1:16 that pan up with the L’Mantree’s flames painting the sky is beautiful and I’m kinda running out of words, but it’s stunning 1:18 the hounds!! Tubbo sees the hounds in red, but there’s still red on his person, as well 1:19 the blood to the fireworks is just a really neat transition and I enjoy it :) 1:21 the withers are red, as one may expect, but Phil’s not, which is pretty interesting 1:24 Tommy and Tubbo see Techno in red, as well as the shot that kills them both 1:32 Dream in red. They’ve realized that he’s the one who’s done all this, Dream has destroyed them individually, their friendship, and now their nation. He is the ultimate enemy. 1:48 again, Phil’s weapon is red, but not him. But yeah, he’s killing Ghostbur by his wishes so it fits 1:52 Schlatt as red and Ghostbur as blue, a very interesting contrast as well as an allusion to Schlatt’s being the villain 1:56 red falling over Ghostbur only for it to be revealed to not be Ghostbur, well done!! 2:01 the disc being red and glitchy in Ranboo’s hands, mirroring his own instability and conflict in the item that incriminates himself 2:08 might just be my eyes, but does Jack look a little pink there? It’s not a fight scene, but he has malicious intentions and they shade his neutrality 2:40 Dream appearing in the most vibrant red yet **chefs kiss** 2:47 the disc also being red, tainted not only by Dream, but by the corrupt value it has come to hold over Tommy (see how it stays red, even after Tommy retrieves it) 2:52 a red shattered-glass effect over Tommy, very interesting.. perhaps a sign of the illusion of a battle, of victory, being broken? 2:54 the disc turning red as it holds Dream’s reflection 3:05 the red strings Tommy and Tubbo have been pulled around by becoming visible 3:18 Tommy cutting the strings with the Axe of Peace **wipes away a tear** 3:25 Dream in gray, what will he do?? No, but I take this as a symbol of him not being a threat anymore, or at least not being perceived as a threat anymore 3:26 Schlatt being red is unsurprising, but the key to death, to life, being red is intriguing, though I imagine it’s because of its power being held over Tommy and Tubbo 3:30 Dream back in red as he’s being dragged off to prison, we don’t need a perspective character in this moment, as he was all their enemy

My favourite part of this animatic was the part where everyone arrived on the prime path and then there was the shot of Tommy and Tubbo looking at each other before turning to the ocean. That felt so surreal :D
