Few years ago I took pictures from albums n most frames n put them in photo boxes n tucked them away. Gave all 3 sons an assortment of their selves growing up until they moved out n started their life as an adult. I've told them where photo boxes are so when I'm gone they can do with them as they wish. We downsized few years ago was the best decision of my life honestly.

Loved the memories…we have so many similarities. I was married September of seventy one, I had two very young siblings, eight and three, I was twenty two. Yes doing photos is a definite rabbit hole and when you pulled out the little stack of Kiss nails I bursted out laughing because I’m looking at my stack right now lol…oh and those waffle tops, I have about eight and I think I’ll be cutting them like you did. That’s a great tip and it looks good, can’t stand crew necks, they drive me crazy. Take care Margaret…thank you❤️

I was married at 18 in 1970. I loved your trip down memory lane. Your gifts were exactly the kind of gifts we got. My husband passed away after 46 years, and i am, enjoying is a strange word to use, but it fits my ability to eat, sleep, etc. whenever i want. My pictures also no one will want. Seems like younger ones aren't as sentimental as us oldies. But i have been gradually clearing out.

Fingernails In my family, women have long, very strong nails...until my generation, lol. I sware my momma could probably have shredded a coconut with hers, lol. My cousins and I were not so blessed. That coupled with me biting mine from the time I was 6...brittle as all get out. However...when my momma passed in 2022, I had started (by default) to use olive oil on my hands. Technically I was using it on my face, which btw is awesome when smudged with vaseline to seal it in over night. Not so much you slide around like a water park but enough to moisturize. Anyway, it being on my hans, I'd just run it in. I noticed my nails getting stronger. Then one day, very matter of factly, I didn't bite my nails anymore. They have been long and stronger since.

I really enjoyed looking at your pictures, Margaret. Thank you for sharing them with us. I was 24 in 1972 when you were 18 and getting married. I had married in 1969 and, by 1972, had two small sons (ages 2 and 1). Their dad just up and left us for another woman in 1973 and that was a good thing. I knew when I was walking down the aisle in the little country church, I was making a big mistake. My knees were practically knocking together but, Gee, all of these people had come to the wedding so I figured I had to go through with it.🙄. How stupid could I be??? I love my two sons with all of my heart but wish I could have gotten them from a different marriage....😁. I don't have a single photo from that wedding needless to say.😊

When I married again, I was older and wiser. I threw out my wedding photos from that first marriage and never looked back. You live and learn.

Sadly, I experienced a similar situation in my marriage. I was dealing with some physical issues that drs were trying to figure out. One focus was to rule out ovarian cancer. When they did, he said he was kinda bummed bc he thought that could be how we got out of debt (bc all the baby powder lawsuits). That was right before the end. On the bright side, we didn't end up on 48 Hours or Dateline, lol.

Keep the photos! I only throw away photos if I have several of the same or very similar. Our kids will want them, if not now, when they're older. Also, I would pay good money to have some memorabilia from my nana's time, any thoughts or words she wrote, etc. So you'd never know, in years to come a grandson or daughter may love coming across your record of your wedding planning and gifts you got! I cleared out a lot of stuff when I downsized, I'm not one for keeping boxes and boxes of old things, but a few is a treasure, for someone, maybe ha! 🙂

(It's Gail) I wish you would at least save the Daniel & Company memorabilia (it's part of your legacy) and old photos like you with your brother around the time you got married, which is family history. I just hate to see old photos trashed (and yes, I still have my wedding album from that day with my ex). Trash all the photos of the ex if that makes you feel good but I'm sure there are plenty you may wish you had saved when the boys or future grandchildren are interested. I love and cherish all the old photos my parents had... from ANY age. That's all. I'm done talking! :)

Hello, Margaret! I love your clothing hack. I think your shirts look great! I've got to remember that trick for when shirts are too tight around the neck. I always fold shirts the easy way, in half and half again. I keep looking at the two cubby holes where I keep my clutter collections and one of these days I'll guilt trip myself into going through stuff and purging. It's one of those tasks I've avoided for a while already. I'm a terrible procrastinator sometimes. Have a good weekend and see you next time!

I fold my clothes in half and roll. They don’t seem to wrinkle as much that way. I agree that your tops are much better with the V cut-out. As far as the photos go, I have tried to go thru and toss all the duplicates, out of focus, people that aren’t in our lives or unrecognizable - then I went down a very melancholy rabbit hole. I had to stop. I think I’ll let the kids decide what to do after I’m gone. We have three moving boxes full of my in-laws photographs that we need to go thru right now. I’m not invested in those pictures and would throw them out but it’d up to my husband. He won’t look thru them, so they are under my desk taking up the space my feet should go. Photos are a dilemma for sure.

Brilliant idea to cut out that insert in your shirts! Looks perfect! Re the pipe in the closet that goes to the basement......how about just caulking around the pipe to seal it from any basement odours coming up? Easily removable if needed. CHARCOAL odour absorber containers also work well. I wish you'd kept the pictures of yourself at least from the wedding album! I know sons are not as sentimental as daughters as a rule, but I wouldn't have thrown those pics of yourself at 18! Maybe the memories attached to them aren't good for you, but it's still a teenage YOU! :) ~~M~~

I’m with you, I can’t stand crewnecks, I don’t like anything touching me there. I enjoyed watching you go through your stuff for some odd reason I like watching people clean and organize and go through their things. I bet 90% of them are scenery from vacations with no people in it and I’m sure I have better scenery now with a newer camera than I had then.

What do you do with the wedding album, I don't want to offer it to my 5 children. They still think their father is a good man. I'm educated now after 51 years of what I now know was abuse. I went by myself to buy my wedding gown also. It cost $125 and my mom also made my veil. Funny story, my dad was in the process of painting the house and somehow got gray paint on the veil. Believe it or not my angel mom was able to get it out without any smell. 💕💜😇

Hello Margaret, I enjoy watching your videos. You are so energetic, something I wish I was now. But if you don't mind , I have a question for you. When you broke your back in 3 places, how long did it take to heal and was there physical therapy involved. I am asking because I fractured 3 vertebraes in 2021 (30%, 30% fracure in one vertebrae and the other 2 are 15%)and I am having a hard time getting more mobile. I feel like my muscles in my back are stiff.
