You know you live with a velcro dog when…

We recently heard the term 'velcro dog' for the first time and realized our miniature dachshund Mac tics a lot of the velcro dog boxes. We love how much Mac likes to be around and engage with us and wanted to share some of our favorite traits with you :)

I had a lovely wee Parson's Terrier up to nearly 18 and then his fellow doggo who was a Lancashire Heeler up til 15. They were wonderful boys and I still miss them so much. This sweet dog reminds me so much of the latter. Treasure your pets, they live short lives ❤

My gosh, everyone here who had a mini dachshund says their pups lived over 19 years! This is a VERY long life for ANY dog! Is this a normal life extension for a dog of this breed? That's incredible! All of you who had one of these dogs who lived that long were so truly blessed , as I lost my dog at barely 13 and I miss him SO VERY MUCH 😩😭😿🐩❤️🌈😭

I had a Velcro dog for 21 wonderful years. He was tossed over our fence when he was about 6 weeks old. It was love at first sight & he was never far from us. I love watching Mac as he's a lot like Oscar ❤️🐾

Precious! I have 9 pups, one is a very devoted velcro girl; she was surrendered by a couple who did not interact or play or cuddle with her, and since she came to own me, she's been lavished with attention and affection. She pays it back in spades! 🐶🐾💜

Mac looks exactly the same as my Jake when he was alive. Same markings, same everything, and talk about intelligence. He had it, and we had our special moments and ways of communicating with each other. The things I thought him to do and he trained me also. There's no other love than the love with a daschund.😊😊😊😊😊😊
