I have had this idea for years that the IOC should acquire some unpopulated islands in Greece and build a state of the art facility there, and that is where all future summer Olympics should be held. That saves the host country/city the expense and effort of building stadiums etc. that might not be used to capacity ever again. The IOC could offset the cost by selling TV and advertising rights and letting out the facilities for other championships (e.g. the Champions League soccer final, which always takes place on neutral ground) - and I am sure Greece would like to donate some islands to keep the Olympic heritage alive.

@@kimvibk9242 For 3 out of 4 years, the accommodation could be used as a resort. The income from that would pay its construction and maintenance costs off in about 10-15 years. Being a permanent resort also would mean it would likely maintain a higher standard than some countries apply to their Olympic construction. Oh, and they could still have participating countries take turns to "host" the games, by having them arrange the opening ceremony acts, develop the mascots and promotional content, etc.

5:55 The "first person ....to win gold in 5 Olympics" is not true. The person pictured is the Cuban wrestler, Mijain Lopez who is the first person to win 5 golds in 5 different Olympics AS AN INDIVIDUAL COMPETITOR. The first person to win 5 golds in 5 different Olympics was British rower Steven Redgrave as part of a team of 8 or 4 in the coxed 8s or 4s.

You asked if there were any Olympians watching. Well here I am. Received a Bronze medal in the 1972 Break dancing event. I'm proud to have represented my country. Back then it was serious business, not like that meme break dancer girl. The I.B.D.U. (international Break Dancing Union) is so embarrassed over her performance.

For anyone wondering about the guy in the first meme at the beginning, Anthony Ammirati. His vault was a bit shallow, so his upper thighs rubbed the bar as he went over, causing it to get wedged under his male bulge and be pulled down. He was thus disqualified after 3 failed attempts. He had no injuries, but attention got focused on his prominent package. No better way to lose a qualifier than one that is flattering as you fail.

I'll tell you one thing Zed..! We lived in Moorhead in all of the 80's and everyone could break dance. We had feuds with Vietnamese and Mexican kids. We were in our single digits, it didn't matter. Because my grandpa was cool, he didn't offer it to us, he just wanted to hear that we made it cooler than. So, he worked he worked at nodak and was getting more cardboard than they could get rid of. He brings it home. Mid 80's mind you. He brought tape and taught my bro and me how to set it all up so it was portable. We were like 7&8 years old. It was Not like fight club, but go down to the park? Hell yeah. 8'x8', thick cardboard. It was like trailer park gymnastics. We be doing handstands, backspins, forward and back flips, even the worm. It was fun. Put your elbow in your chest, spin on both your hands, then you do that laydown, like chick did at the olympics. It brought back good memories. But oh my fook... That wasn't breaking. Embarrassing is more like it. Floor exercise like Will Ferrell in old school. A baton with a ribbon.

I am feeling so hopeful right now! The amount of Australians commenting gives me great joy! In a country where we rely on the American elections for how our life will be in the next 4 years, it’s comforting to know there are many Aussie conservatives wide awake to the BS. My fellow Americans, Australia is not the country you imagine it to be, we are without a doubt THE wokest country in the world, lead by a communist socialist regime. We are worse than Canada & the UK combined. You have immigrants flowing over the southern boarder? We have them fly in legally and then be given a big fat cheque along with housing, cars, and a job. When you step into Melbourne airport now it’s like stepping into New Delhi or Mumbai, maybe even Dubai depends on the day. But it’s definitely not the carefree country you believe it be. Is white folk are meant to hide and not be listened too

Anything that needs judges to score your performance shouldn't be an Olympic sport. They need to be objective competitions of who's the fastes, throws or jumps the furthest, scores the most goals, etc. Everything else needs to go. And even then I won't watch it or give a damn. Thanks you for coming to my TED Talk.
@dnagpal2 ай бұрын
Anything where two different people can give different scores cannot be a sport, period. Sports should be completely objectively scored.
