I've noticed that he speeds most during act 1, when the deck is overperforming (fair play on this one) and when the deck is just treading water. He tends to give Boss relics the time of day when they ask for it but frequently doesn't with shops.

Is envenom actually any good? (I'm not a big sts player) It seems like even upgraded it's still 1 poison per attack, which means with 6 shivs you're applying 6 poison - or you could just get a deadly poison. I don't think it's a bad card, but I'm assuming it's not something you build a deck around, and just something that is nice when you have a shiv build and a catalyst?

Deadly poison does one thing and that's it. It doesn't scale. If you need poison that badly, get a poison pot or something.

Its certainly one of the weaker scaling options and a low roll for neow bonus but its really good at artifact stripping late game for perma weak, piercing wail etc. You don't really need like 100 poison if you have really solid block, envenom can solve the scaling of those slower decks

It is horrendous as Neow reward and usually worse than at least one of the rares you see after a boss. Pretty pickable if you have >=4 energy though. Issue is it pulls you in two different directions.

sometimes you don't see much offensive scaling in your run and envenom is just kind of all you can get. it's usually best when you see it while you still need a hexaghost solve, it can also comfortably solve some harder bosses if you have something like a dupe pot or nightmare and no other offensive scalers to target. i'd say it's usually a stopgap card and in endgame you're usually just appreciating the fact that it purges from your draw/discard for one energy more than anything, though the artifact strip is nice sometimes. it also lets you focus on taking attacks/terror/PK while still being open to grabbing catalyst, especially if you have burst or nightmare already.

Isn't Posioned Stab an actively good card for Act 1? I'm not sure if I've seen him take it at all this climb. With no build-around it's 9 to 12 damage depending on length of the fight (12 to 18 upgraded). Compounds with any other poison cards you might take. Pops artifacts to make way for Neutralize/Terror. Attack-based damage as a hedge against the Gremlin Nob. Not saying it's an auto-take in every deck but it seems way better than a lot of other options early.

It's ok, but blade dance and dagger throw are the common attacks that I most want to see Act 1. They do more immediately most of the time. NLs preference is also not poison decks so I haven't hated any of his passes on poison stab. Like in both of his runs today, I don't think a poison stab would have made his deck better. Whereas I think the second run could have really benefited from a blade dance.
