@@scarletcrusade77 Returning Vietnam veterans had various experiences, depending on the year they were in Vietnam. I have seen plenty of Vietnam documentaries and of course Platoon by Oliver Stone, much helped out by Dale Dye, both Vietnam veterans. They never said anything about being insulted or spit at after they returned. Many Vietnam veterans knew that it was an evil war and because of the draft, most were sent against their will. So when they returned, you wouldn't see them marching up and down the street in their dress uniform with their medals. Look up some documentaries. Some of the most active and outspoken anti-Vietnam war activists were veterans themselves. You know, those veterans who threw away their medals in a symbolic gesture that I personally found unfortunate. They earned those medals by saving their buddies, not by winning any battle for TPTB. Then again, I later learned they could get new duplicates of their medals becauser mishaps can happen so if a veteran 'lost' his medals, he could get them again. With all that said, veterans who returned following 16 March 1968 may have been booed and even spat on occasionaly because there's no monument for those butchered women, children and elderly people.
