I felt the same about the Marnie. When it came out I wasn't fussed on all the pleats and ruffles and jazzy bits..but the more I see people make simplified versions the more I like it

Hello Tamlyn and Happy New Year! I, too bought the Fabric Godmother 'Astral' fabric, it is just beautiful. I also love anything 'astral' too, and cannot resist a fabric with an Astral print, I am considering sewing another TATB 'Lyra' shirt dress with it. I thought the fabric that you got in the Sew Hayley Jane would make a beautiful 'Taika' dress by Named Patterns. I think that I am going to have to buy the Marnie pattern after seeing so many beautiful makes, I, too didn't like the pattern when I first saw it either. Happy sewing

Great video Tamlyn! Felt myself nodding along a few times. I too had the same thoughts about Marnie but now have fabric ready to go for it - isn't that always the way? Instagram is so inspiring, I can't wait to see yours. I love the fabric godmother fabric and agree that is the perfect pattern match - plus you'll have two garments and will have mix and match opportunities so will get maximum wear out of it. I've made the fringe dress and we're around the same size and I got mine out of less than 2 mtrs, closer to 1.5 so you'll have loads of that fabric left. So many plans - can't wait for 2023!
