Very enjoyable banter. I want to say one thing and I want to say it in the most constructive way possible. But I am unable to. Sound levels, bro.

Hey Cap! I was just listening to the side pull podcast and thought i'd pop in here to say that I've been loving the podcast content and will 100% check out more if you plan to do it this year. Both this and the blitz podcast are nice listens, and the pro gameplay tips idea is also really great! Genuinely though, Dota needs some regular content that isn't just meme builds/stream clips or replay reviews.

I think a lot Liquid fans are fans of the current players as well. Not sure what the ratio would be but personally I became a fan after Insania was on the TI 10 broadcast. I also think Zai, Matu and Nisha also added to the popularity in terms of fans following players, especially as TL was their retirement team. I was a Secret fan before becoming a Liquid fan, but when Liquid became a mainstay at tournaments I started rooting for them, mainly because of Insania and Zai. Nigma being made from the old TL also makes that less of a factor. Why would I cheer for TL because of the Nigma players when I can cheer for the players? Specific players are generally more popular than teams like a Secret without Puppey or OG without Ceb/N0tail would tank in popularity, especially if they went to another team. If Aydin swaps team I will probably switch team loyalty to that team. TL, this is a threat and you should take it as such...

I see how there can be some sort of.. nostalgia? for the "old times" with more beef and drama. And yeah, that sort of stuff sometimes makes for good entertainment - although, arguably, also _cheap_ entertainment. I'd be careful about framing it as a good thing overall, or somehow wishing a return of that culture. Especially the parts that involve/boil down to shitheads having beef with each other, or "personality" being a euphemism for being an ass. While it may be fun for some, having people like that in the position of role models and setting the tone is damaging to the scene overall. I'd rather work further towards an atmosphere of ethics, sportsmanship and mutual respect (which I think we have made some strides for) - also to help foster a more inclusive dota environment overall. That's not to say that that doesn't give room for some rough language or some trash talk here and there, maybe even the odd ?, as long as it's understood to be in good fun. I personally don't want to see anyone hating each other battle it out on broadcast. Or relying on forcing some (fake or real, both would be problematic) drama as a crutch to create a good show. Been typing this as I was listening and I guess insania sums part of what I'm trying to say quite well: "as long as it stays as it's supposed to be. It'll be funny until it isn't."
