I used to be a Mind's Eye main back when her blindness was really dark, stopped playing her just a little after her adjust (not really for the adjustment itself, I just started maining Perfurmer at the time), and I can say I miss her old vision so much I wish they could bring it back even as an option, it was so unique and added a eerie vibe to the game. I used to main her because I thought she was cute, because of her decoding and because I felt that everyone knowing where hunter was at the start of the match was pretty useful for us.

Yeah it’s really a shame tho. But to be honest, to try to get that dark creepy vibe again, you can technically lower the brightness of the map all the way down when using her. It’s not quite the same, but it does hinder your vision nonetheless.

A few years ago I started playing minds eye and I really suck since I could bearly focus on kiting while it was too dark and also my vaulting speed is horrendous every hunter waited me to vault to get a free hit and it get terror shocks every time so now it‘s still the same even the buff wouldn’t helped me…

I think another thing to note is that gardener used to be far more of a pain with chairs only being able to be repaired with the abnormal trait

I definetly started with Gardner for the same reasons you mentioned! She was super cute and she was really simple to use, no confusing extra abilities, or complex main abilities. You go up to a chair, you destroy it, and that's it. And I don't know if the toggle button was always there but when I first started I don't remember it being there? So it was just, you spawn with a shield, then you just, stand still for another. It was just really easy so you didn't have to focus on the character-specific mechanics and could learn the general game strategies

No cause I was literally so toxic before since there is no such thing as a healing speed limit. I would play with my enchantress friend and we heal stun heal stun heal stun. I was like a reusable punching bag that’s always giving her 5 stacks. And my other friend played seer and just farm stacks of bird to use end game with detention. The decoder was probably crying why were they facing the hunter 3 people at a time 😭😭😭

I started with the Doctor and she's always the first survivor I choose to play. I'm not the best at containing the hunter and the fact that she can heal herself reassures me. I also like the fact that she has no decoding debuff. I also think I like her the most because I always tend to choose healers in games 😂

Actually I mained Luca was because I like his personality of how he's someone not easily giving up in his past story and how people portrayed him as someone who's very extroverted and outgoing. It relates to me a lot, since it kind of symbols past me, it just reminds how I was in the past a lot. Second reason was because I just like his backstory alright? Lol. I like physics and all those theories making but I won't try to master it cause it's hard for someone thats bad at math like me. Third reason was because I am bad at kiting and I often get terror shocked but using Luca somehow just gives me a chance to kite longer with the stun and less terror shocks lol And theres a small part of where I just love how his teacher which is Alva used to look like (I also love how he look like now, so handsome-), idk how this is also a reason but it just is... (maybe cause I'm srsly bad at playing Alva so)

I used to main doctor when I'm still in low rank with the same reason in your video (And also so that I didn't die too early). But now there's so many interesting Character and fun to play with, and now I enjoying more a character that have kiting skill, and maybe helping other kiter like using Norton, Patricia or Kreacher (I just love bullying hunter).

It's funny how newer players have changed the way this game is played. When I started playing back on December 2019 everyone brought tide and that's why as soon as I had enough clues I bought priestess, I got lucky though since it was the end of season 8 and all characters were available so I've always been a priestess main 😂

I main helena before they buff her area to see things more clearer and bigger but when i saw her trailer from when she came out, i liked it made u feel how a blind person see(maybe idk) i wanted her some area of seeing like back then cause when i play her in a make like Eversleeping when i use my staff i get blinded by the buildings and i cann't see the hunter for a while

I'm a mechanic main so i really can't say But i feel like mind's eye's blindness being worse is what makes her fun and unique. it gives her a certain challange and a good trade off for her fast decoding speed Since they made it better you practically have normal vision which is just not as fun

Doctor main here! I main doctor because I genuinely think her play style is really fun and satisfying. It’s really satisfying when you’re able to get heals off during a kite, and it’s easy to support and body block for others too because she can tank them. The fact that she can heal chip damage is a life saver, and she also doesn’t need to depend on anyone for healing.

I joined idv all the way back in 2018, even the beta version of the game. Of course when I started as a mercenary main because I thought the far you were from the hunter, the better. Not after season 18 I became a perfumer main, then after season 25 was released, I mained barmaid and started yo play hunter as well and mained joseph(I still main him though because he has an unique hitox)

i've been playing gardener for 3 years, both for her gameplay which i find really fun, her lore, her skins etc. I mean, it's hella fun when a naiad closes me in an area and i just pop my shield and stay there and then i use flywheel in the water, if you know what to do, its hella fun, and of course, getting matched with people who understand that falling away from chairs just so you can help them struggle is the best type of harassing ever, i mean, being harassed by a gardener sounds so silly... i can already remember all the hunters telling me the 3 famous letters just because i helped someone struggle free

Although my first main was technically Doctor, I am one of the people who decided to use Mechanic as a first main! And honestly, I just thought her ability was pretty cool- back then I thought her bot was kind of a "second chance". Its a bit different from Doctor and her self heal but the ability to still roam around despite being chaired really sold her for me. Plus you could heal yourself with the bot either way, it's literally just having two sides of you THAT YOU CAN CONTROL in the same map. It's miles different from say Journalist or Puppeteer's ability. They might have their own "alter egos" per say, but it's just AI. You cant control you, nor do you have a "second half". I main Andrew/Gravekeeper now but I occasionally still use her for fun! Although I do agree that other decoders are almost _miles_ better than her, to me, she still has one of the most unique, if not, the most coolest abilities!

I main Lawyer (Prisoner, Merc, Grave Keeper randomly picked and if I feel like being chaired I'll play Seer because his owl always leaves me 😂) I played Mechanic to get her quests done and dropped her the second it was done. I had so much trouble with her, but I do have Misa and her doll skin SCREAMS "hi! Hello hunter-bby! 8D" every time so that might be why, but she really is adorable so as Light/Lawyer I will go the distance to save her, but Prisoner(double points for L) will get my attention first if he's on the field (it's the shock Phoenix. Most people maining/thirst for him is the shock. I have two friends that jumped into the game and fell hard for the shock and his quirkiness - also his skins. My bestie plays Prisoner for L but went crazy in wanting Dazai, and now she is always torn on "To be chaired as L or to strip as Dazai?" 😂 This was a very cute video. People like decoders because they think that you can decode for the whole game and not kite. But you need to know how to kite in every role. Not every game there will be a harasser by your side to help or save you. And you will become an easy target for the hunter.
