I think they show the fake lush green outside in the helmet so the cleaners will indeed clean (to try to show the people underground what the outside "really" looks like), remember that in S01 they said that everyone that came out did clean, even if they sworn that they won't do it. Regarding "Please help survivors on 72", they don't mean the Silo 72 (cause they shouldn't know there are more), but they mean the Level 72 (72 floor from top since top Level is 1).

Interesting. I didn’t realize the levels were numbered that way (backwards) - a detail I probably forgot in the two years I’ve seen season 1. It’s a great detail for the story itself and motif, as it represents the class divide. #1 is top dog obviously. In our society, the penthouse is usually top floor, but in the Silo, the people in charge would want to be closest to the earth’s surface. It also obviously makes it difficult for the most discontented in a Silo society, the hardest working class of laborers, to reach them (or even see how well they live). Plus, the logistics of the bottom levels being near the generator to work on it. I’m rambling - but cool detail/reminder about what 72 means (or could mean).

Hello Igor. I'm so happy to become a member. I love your From episodes and now, I look forward to your Silo ones. Your videos and editing are excellent and make it easy to follow your thoughts, explanations and theories. I'm very sorry about your recent loss. That kind of pain is so hard to bear.

Outstanding analysis! You're attention to detail is spot on. I appreciate you not doing a full recap (we all saw the same thing, duh) but rather just freeze framing potential signs that may help us in unraveling the mystery. Great work. Keep it up. Best Silo explainer out of hundreds on this platform. Looking forward to your S2E2 analysis.

It’s a really interesting detail that this silo is more colorful and visually pleasing. I think the writers are trying to say that people here had more freedom than in the original silo, but it eventually led to rebellion. This is because the more freedom you give people, the more they want. Meanwhile, the original silo is still operating because of its strict restrictions on almost everything
@JoParker-g4l
@JoParker-g4l 7 сағат бұрын
💯 - also the strict control of any information, including relics, that could lead residents of the silo to ponder the past. The only past there is: a cataclysmic event that everyone should fear happening again (and maybe they have good reason to fear the outside, but that doesn’t mean those who led the rebellion were bad people as they are portrayed). The propaganda is masterful imo.

"My hand slip", I interpret it to mean that during the fight, the sheriff threw Russell over the bridge, to his death.

i was getting the vibe he had a gun to his head trying to get him to open the door. they would need the passcode. the gun went off killing him and preventing them from being able to get in the room with the mystery man. this all being a flashback we will see from mystery guy in the future.

Interesting. My first thought was that maybe his hand slipped in relation to the generator, which could have flooded by mistake or because engineering refused to perform maintenance - but he’s the sheriff, innit. That doesn’t really work.

@@JoParker-g4l Also, perhaps he put a gun to the head of Russell to get him to open the door? It's an open-ended question that left it dangling for us. A mean trick by the writers! Why not just tell us what he meant by that?
@JoParker-g4l

To add to the mystery and make the show more fun and interesting (to me, anyway). I’m sure we’ll find the answer to that question this season, maybe within the next couple of episodes. The mystery of what actually happened in that silo to 1) foment the rebellion and 2) where it all went wrong are major plot points. She needs to figure out what happened and where they went wrong so she can somehow get that information to the restless, upset people in 18 who are on the verge of rebellion too - before it’s too late.

Wow! You covered a lot. I haven't read the other comments yet, but my thinking is that the Sheriff meant something different when he said "Why wouldn't he open the door?" and then his wife said "Because he was told not to." My thought: they're talking about a family member, another child, who is with Russell. The discussion between the Sheriff and his wife took place after the rebels had successfully overpowered the people guarding Russell in the locked room. Russell may have come out--and been killed by accident: "My hand slipped," the Sheriff said. Moving forward to Juliette's time, the child has now grown up and is the sole survivor behind the door. Again: I have no idea if I'm correct; but, it explains the Sheriff's wife saying "Because he was told not to." She sounds like she's disappointed/explaining the actions of a child. Not that of an adult who disappointed her. That's my theory.

Something I noticed in this episode, the water at the bottom of this silo isn't rippling. I noticed this because the water at the bottom of her original silo IS rippling quite a bit! Like there's a lot of wind at the bottom for some reason. Whatever's causing the disturbance in the water doesn't just seem like an effect to tell us that it's water or she would have seen something similar when looking down from almost any level above the water in the dead silo. What's causing the water at the bottom of her original silo to ripple?

I swear - some people seem to react to “no spoilers allowed” by saying to themselves, “I’m *definitely* going to share spoilers now”. I have strong feelings about people like that, which I cannot spell out here - but this is exactly why I stopped going on the Silo subreddit a couple of years ago. Multiple mods, supposedly to kick out inconsiderate people like that, but when someone actually did spoil something from the books in a comment directly to me and I reported it, the mod on duty acted like I was the one with the problem. Thanks for making a strong statement against it. Looks like a couple of people ignored it.

For those who didn’t read the book I can tell that you can read it still, too many differences between. But the show makes it much better, for example in season 1 we found out what’s really outside only in the end, and in the book it’s like chapter one.

Hi, Igor! Hope your days are becoming a little bit brighter. I have something small to add to the detail you mentioned regarding heterochromia. It’s not unheard of, but also uncommon and a distinctive characteristic. This may not come into play (especially as it seems the person is in there alone), but it could be important at some point down the line as a clear physical identifier. Juliet could not see his face or any other part of him. She heard his voice, but he would have to speak for her to recognize it in another setting- even then, some people have similar sounding voices. But if Juliet were to see this man in any other setting or situation, she would be able to identify him right away because it’s unlikely that anyone else has eyes quite like that. Just a thought! Thank you for making it clear the comment section needs to be spoiler free. Some of us haven’t read the books -had not even heard of the books before watching Silo season 1 - and are hoping to enjoy the show without preconceptions. The books are supposedly really good, so I will probably read them myself after Silo the tv show has concluded. Thanks for yet another great video! I am DYING to see the FROM finale (which incidentally airs on my birthday. Coincidence? Absolutely, but I am still viewing it as my birthday present).

Ok, so this is not theory it is season one info. The steam and water are under the silo, like underground, the silo was put in the ground above the underground pocket of natural gas to use as power for the silo. So it precedes it. The position of the silos was probably chosen based on the area to give people power source. That is why the generator was build with that safety chamber that releases the gas before it explodes. It was pre planned.
