I do wish that congress members had more than 5mins (especially in committee hearings, as it isn’t the full body of congress), as 5mins isn’t enough time to ask & answer 1 probing question; & that those brought before a Congress committee (especially those pd by tax payers) must answer & come prepared or face an actual consequence; & lastly, Congress members must stay on topic for the hearing/ oversight/ investigation-> resembling more of a courtroom hearing decorum for attorney’s. Then at the end of the committee hearing, each member can get 3mins for a ‘monologue’ Going back and watching old congressional oversight or investigative hearings, they seemed to have far more power, and achieved much more.
