Is Sunset Bridge / Afam Bridge in Siargao Overrated?
Join us on this vlog as we explore the sunset bridge in siargao.
We got to sunset bridge at around 6pm, just before the sunset and it is already packed with food stalls, tourist, skateboarders, cars and motorbikes.
We parked on the other end of the bridge (opposite of the food stalls)
it is better to park there as there's lots of space, unlike the other side of bridge where its mostly food stalls. We watched the sunset first then walked towards the food stall as soon as the sun sets.
There are many skateboarders, filipino, locals and foreign. The bridge is still open to public. Cars are still able to pass carefully with skateboards and many people walking around.
On the other end of the bridge (towards General Luna) are the food stalls. They sell every filipino street food from mango, fishballs, BBQ. They even have drinks and alcohols. I tried dynamite. It's a child covered in a lumpia wrapper and fried I think. I also tried my first sour mango which is very sour!
We then watch the rest of the sunset with the locals. Watch some crazy tourist jump of off the bridge! As we left, a kid asked us if he can hold on to to he bike so he can set off and of course we did!
Siargao has a great community of diverse people, it's very chill and I don't think it's overrated. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. It's super safe too, imagine we just left our bike in the middle of the bridge unattended!
