How did you get tracking to work outside? I’ve tried it twice, once in the daytime (in the sun and in shade) and once at night with an IR flashlight. Neither worked well enough for me, but this was on the Quest 2.
@ben208yt Жыл бұрын
Doing it in broad daylight is bad for the headset. I did it at sunset which meant a moderate light level but no direct sunlight.

How the hell did you get your quest to track outside? We have a rather large game room / bbq room / dining hall with a full glass ceiling, and my quest 2 just refuses to track anything in that room. Can't track the floor, can't set up perimeter, nothing. Meta support said that rooms that are too big or have transparent walls, or windows that are too large won't give the Quest's tracking beams anything to bounce off of so it can't approximate where you are. HOW did you do this??
@ben208yt Жыл бұрын
Tbh I just went out and it worked. I was careful to do it at dusk so the light levels were very moderate / close to indoors. Additionally it sounds like your large room might have “flat” walls while the building in the background probably has a lot to grab onto for the cameras. Same with the parking lot lines. (Also, you can disable perimeter entirely, but that’s ill advised)
@jan_Sanku Жыл бұрын
how'd you set up your playspace for this? i can't even set up a playspace encompassing the entire room because there appears to be an arbitrary limit on how far away from the starting point you can draw. indeed, some research shows that there appears to be a 15m² size limit. allegedly the quest 2 can't calculate beyond that, or something. i'm really curious about how you accomplished this!
@ben208yt Жыл бұрын
The playspace can be entirely disabled. It’s a bit risky to do so but yeah.
