Just picked up the Amaran 300c 2 days ago and used it yesterday….was a world of being able to use that color for backgrounds and subjects (opposed to my small panel lights and 120’s) and like you said in this video I’m glad I went with the bigger light as I could turn it down if need be. Didn’t break the bank like the 600c would have. Big fan of it right now. Probably will pick up a second in the future as I’m loving that diversity it has right now.

I was thinking about getting the 300c but then I was deciding if i should get 2 150c and then the nanlite fs 300b. do you think that would be a good alternative?

My favourite light is the LS 60x since it's literally the only light I have lol Still waiting on a softbox since I'm kinda broke but even without it's been hella fun just setting up a big sheet or my 5 in 1 to shoot through and I can't wait to have the ability to experiment more.

one thing to note: You can always get two lights and put them next to each other to match the higher power light. So I might as well get 3 forza 300 and then double them up to compete with sunlight :)

Great video! Hey I thought of a video topic idea - I’d be interested in a breakdown of how to shoot faces/interviews outdoors in harsh sunlight, and the best way to rig diffusion that won’t get blown away by the wind.

Thanks for sharing! Not too many videos on Forza 500BII, I just placed an order for a 2 light kit of the Forza 500BII and the 19 & 36 projector beam lens from Nanlite. Love your lighting setup in your office and great audio! Do you have any more content on Nanlite Forza 300 or 500??

What I noticed in your video is that you kept the pinned cable wrapped. I would strongly recommend unwrapping it and leave it loose when in use. The wattage obviously is higher and can overheat, degrade, melt, catch fire and so on.

Great Video! I’ve been thinking about getting another light. I currently have a Aputure 120D. Quick question… You mentioned matching the ambient light outside with the light inside. How do you actually do that?
@dtr_media Жыл бұрын
Not trying to speak for YC, but this is a topic i've found really interesting to experiment with so maybe it'll be helpful: it depends on what look you're going for, but it's mainly just a game of playing with the lighting of your subject until your exposure looks balanced (or is more similar on something like false color) with the outdoor lighting. Different types of diffusion material will be your best friend for this because you don't want the light to look harsh at all or it'll throw off the balance quickly. You may also need to diffuse some of the outdoor light if its coming in through a window with things like ND gels on windows or placing diffusion/a scrim in front of them. Also pay attention to the angle of where you're placing your lights relative to where the shadows would naturally fall. Like YC's shot at 5:50 is great because he balanced the light to create the illusion of the sun coming from outside and theres shadow shaping his face from the indoor side which looks realistic to our mind due to the direction of the sun. This is huge for creating the illusion / motivating the light correctly. As a general rule of thumb, expose for the elements you can't control, and use powerful lights to bring up the areas you can
