I notice it doesn’t have the option to test battery in the car and out of the car. Does that matter

Don't think it makes much difference, if it need charging it tells you, and if it's knackered it says replace. Obviously can't run alternator test or cranking test off the car, but it will still test the battery.

Thanks for the video. I just acquired a new iCarSoft scanning tool for Land Rovers. Would you say that ought to be able to do whatever this TopDon battery tester can do? I think it can show live data and the like.

Icarsoft is a good tool, but I don’t thin’ that it can analyse the internal resistance of a battery.

This Tester is Junk. I tested 4 of my Batteries yesterday One an 8 1/2 year old Wet Cell Group 75. It showed 11.7 volts, and Replace. The car hadn't been run in 3 weeks. Started right up(5.7 LT1) 2nd was my boat Battery, Wet Cell 24M. I had charged it 2 months ago when I took it out of the Boat, It read 12.4 Volts Replace, Cap 50% 3rd was a 2 yr old Wet Cell Group 78, the Clamps while great for Tearing up Lead Posts can't grip the Side Mounted Bolts, so I never got it to Work 4th was a AGM H7. It showed 12.7 Volts, 17% Capacity, and "Good". Vehicle had been run 10 hrs earlier for over 50 miles This Junk is going back

Behhh onestamente non mi sembra un prodotto affidabile, ho il BT200 di questo marchio, batteria tenuta bene e sempre ricaricata, ho una exide premium 64ah con 640 di spunto, dopo 5 anni di utilizzo la batteria ancora va bene, con questo dispositivo mi dice da cambiare perché sta al 66% di vita con 520 di spunto, oggi vado a ricontrollare e mi da gli stessi valori, solamente tensione a 12.49, mentre il primo test stava a 12.59, ma adesso mi da batteria buona, penso che se da , da sostituire, non può dopo dare un esito batteria buona, calcolando che l avevo ricaricata la volta scorsa, e con 12.8 di tensione mi dava ugualmente da sostituire, quindi il prodotto lo ritengo non affidabile

Wrong!!!! A bad battery will put strain on your coil or alternator - prematurely wearing them out and they aren't cheap

this device is useless.... it always says "replace" on whatever battery you test... new and old ones !
