Quartzsite Arizona has become an insanely popular place for those living in an RV or Van. There really is a lot to learn about the long-term camping and I hope that my thoughts and experiences will help you if you attempt to make the journey to Quartzsite yourself. I did a video about the proposed Quartzsite LTVA price hikes: kzbin.info9e_om_4XNIs?si=15zKkM3MygDBvkp0 If you enjoyed this video today, please consider supporting the channel by joining our Patreon: patreon.com/GotOut checking out all of the products we use from our Amazon store: www.amazon.com/shop/gotout or simply hitting the like button, subscribing, or sharing this video with someone else. I spent 2 winters in Parhump thinking that was better; it's not. A couple nights I woke up to gunfire nearby; there were countless OHV's and trucks going by each day and dust being blown my way as a result. I understand what you're saying, and it's crazy in the Q for sure, but the crazies in Nevada are a bit more psycho, and as a result of the lack of people they think they can get away with more.

I made the trip down to quartzsite in 2022, paid for the full season and then after 3 weeks I headed back to Kingman. The town was far too crowded for me because I went there during the RV show.

It gets insanely busy! Lots of solitude still available in the desert though… 🌵🌲

Keep it coming! Love the info! I watch a LOT of nomad channels, you're the first one to mention that there's a separate area for dumping blue-boys (that I've seen, anyway, lol). Does the RV show usually have a lot of smaller trailers that can be towed by a mid-sized truck, or is it generally mostly large units? I've been toying with the idea of coming to Quartzite with just my truck, and then going to the RV show. (Winter hasn't even started yet and I'm already sick of the cold and snow, haha!)

40 degrees Celsius or 104 fahrenheit today in my back garden. I'd love some snow (Australia and it's going to be a stinking hot summer).
@GotOut4 күн бұрын
Well most of the trailers they are selling there are brand new and very high priced. Mostly really big ones. They are fun to tour through though.

Nice video always relaxing to watch. Occasionally I mentioned the people I meet about the long-term visitor area. These people tend to be residence in the city, Tucson I’m surprised how many people do not know about the long-term visitor area. Are you going to see RTR festival? I know you’re not big on being around a lot of people, but you might be able to get to meet Bob Wells. I don’t have a van and also I’m traveling that weekend. I definitely would consider it in the future

I've done an in depth series of videos on my channel on the price increase and the situation in Quartzsite. Most people have decided they're going to camp in the free area after the price increases next year. I've used the water in the LTVA. It tastes like a copper penny even when filtered. The water in town is $1 for five gallons. You can dump your trash for free at the town transfer station. The $5million dollar Rv dump and water fill station is still not operational. The majority of vault toilets in the LTVA are vile and disgusting. Only the people ones close to the office are kept clean. You'd best bring Lysol wipes with you as well as your own toilet paper as they're frequently out. There are far too many people in Quartzsite during the season. The ATV's are particularly bothersome with the clouds of dust they stir up. I decided not to stay there this year and I've been much happier for it. Peace and solitude are a beautiful thing. Far enough to not have to deal with the insanity but close enough to pick up my mail and packages.

When I went I didn’t like the Accessibility to the Camping areas. My rig was new so I went to an affordable RV Park that was clean and had laundry and a few other lovely conveniences. Personally I don’t like the dirty sand in a wind storm and I know the wind does blow there and sand storms can do damage to a rig

In the LTVA’s, you can pick as crowded an area to camp as you want. You got thousands of acres to choose from. I’m new, so I have been sticking by the main road. It helps to be friendly to the people around you that you most likely will interact with during your stay. Nice girl near me wants to cook a Christmas meal for all campers in the immediate area. I told her I’m not going to discourage her from doing so lol.

The price increase also includes the other LTVA areas. They all need maintenance as well as more ranger presence due to the uptick in population. I don’t disagree with a price increase. But maybe not quite so extreme! Quartszite has become far too sketchy for my taste. I prefer the Imperial Dam area near Yuma.
@GotOut5 күн бұрын
I think everyone is ok with a moderate price increase if services and upkeep and security are increased.
@Donkern6215 күн бұрын

@GotOut4 күн бұрын
Howdy Bill and Sandy! It really makes me feel good to hear that you have learned from our videos. I’m not an expert, however, so don’t be surprised if Some of my advice or ideas turnout to be wacky. For rv gear, camping and tools go to D&B they have a big shop on the main street near the big yellow water tower/silo. They also have a big tent full of supplies in the show area at Tyson wash. Groceries, I recommend roadrunner for the best selection. Prices are higher indeed. Also Dollar General and Family Dollar. Also a new Dollar General Market store. Coyote grocery not as great of a selection. You must absolutely stop by the huge discount grocery tent in Tyson wash. That’s where I shopped the most, but no fresh stuff. Walmart in Parker 45 minutes away, or Albertsons and Safeway in Blythe, California, 30 minutes away.🌵🌲🐕🦺🐕

I actually believe they are raising prices on the LTVA's so many people will not come. It's getting so popular (or necessary) to be a "nomad" that they probably would like to reduce the crowd. Although I don't know if you kick all those people into the two week areas how you are going to enforce the 25 mile move?

Just so you know, BLM or the forest service says 25 miles straight line as in GPS to GPS location on a map. That is the distance you have to move every 14 days. My father found out by driving 31 miles away, but it was only 19 miles in a straight line. Luckily, he was not ticketed, but scolded.
@GotOut5 күн бұрын
Great info.
@mysurfing35505 күн бұрын
It seems kind of crazy they are that picky. It seems like the law would be so someone doesn't just set up a home on one spot and the area become a homeless camp or something. If someone packs it in and out and moves it seems it should be okay.
@Bumblingdesertdweller5 күн бұрын
@ too many people had abused the privilege. That’s why they had to put the laws in place. My dad said most of the Rangers were fairly nice. The new young ones are the ones you have to watch out for.

@carolmaplesden9164 күн бұрын
So a person would still have to move every two weeks but if you payed for the 40$ two weeks pass went down the road towards Parker on that BLM land for two weeks came back and did the 40$ agen then to the other BLM land down past RV lifestyles and just continued the same cycle for the whole 7 months would be 240$ and one BLM is about 8 miles in one direction from the ltva and the other is about the same 8 miles from the ltva It would be easy and only cost 240$
