In today's video we are going to be Talking about knowing what you are sawing for and picking logs accordingly. We are currently sawing for a customer that lost a barn during the hurricane and is taking his revenge on the tree by turning it into the lumber to rebuild the barn.
So, he needs everything to build back with; He needs 6x6 post 1x10 and 1x3 for board and baton siding, 2x6 studs and 2x12 rafters. In this video we will be focusing on getting the 6x6 post that are needed and talking about picking the correct log to do the job and keeping in mind everything that you are cutting for. There shouldn't be much waste today cutting this log because anything that won't make a 6x6 can make a 1x10 or 1x3. The log we picked out yielded much better than we anticipated. We cut out 9 6x6 post from this single log which was 1 more than the customer needed but we like to give extra as a just encase one dries poorly.
