You NEED To Play This MMO In 2024! | Lord Of The Rings Online
In today's video I share with you guys my thoughts on why LOTRO has become an absolute must play MMO given the state of the current genre.
This game although slightly older is an absolute gem and hopefully you guys will feel the same way about it too.

This really is an old school MMO I spent some good time on a while ago. I had fun screaming everywhere on the battlefield with my Captain. The story is interesting, at least until the Moria where I stopped playing, an can be soloed thanks to a boost that overpower you during the main scenario dungeons. This game is rich and if it would deserve a graphical update he got something I wish FFXIV would have, a (almost) full open world with not loading screen which helps a lot in terms of immersion.

Fun fact, 1.0 version of FFXIV had no loading screens between zones, they were replaced by "tunnels" (those leading to Limsa Lominsa are still visible) you had to walk on during over a minute. You could also travel from Vylbrand to Thanalan by boat like in World of Warcraft. Sadly this wasn't kept in 2.0 version for server stability reasons.

Great video man! I see a lot of salt in the comments, and some of the criticism is right. But I think you explained the nuances really well, it isn't a modern flashy MMO. No, it is for people that love exploring a vast beautiful and atmospheric world on their own pace. And for that world to be Tolkiens world of LotR is the cherry on top. I love reading all the dialogue, never skip any. Not even the small quests. It is like reading a very nice book ,and then actually playing your part in it, I LOVE it. The community is also top notch. So if you expect a polished MMO that you can play on your very wide screen with the best animations, don't start this game, it isn't for you! But don't come here putting salt on videos like this. all I see are subjective arguments like I DONT LIKE THIS, SO ITS INHERENTLY BAD! if it isn't for you, that's great, but let other people have fun with it.

I recently returned to LotRO and am finding it really cool. Probably will grow tired of it in a few weeks but right now it's a good time.

Lord of the rings online will get a remaster if lotr fans show the parent company its worth it! The devs are standing with the fans 👏 we need to unite behind this beloved classic before amazon makes there MMO and ruin lotr more then rings of power

Been only playing for about a week but I absolutely love it. I'm usually not one for MMOrpgs. Played quite a few but fall off pretty fast in general because the leveling is generally not that good and I really don't want to play 100h of a boring games just to get to the "good part". With about just 2 hours of free time to play game every day, this isn't something I can afford. LOTRO is just good right from the beginning and can honestly be played as a great solo RPG.

( i can't comment in English because of youtubers extreme anti spam check your folder i know nobody will read this anyway) Este juego es muy bonito una verdadera joya escondida después de dejar wow yo estaba buscando otro mmo para reemplazarlo de vuelta en la década de 2000 no tenía mucho tiempo y dinero y yo ignorado este juego ya que desconfiaba de los juegos con licencia de cine por lo que sólo jugó wow y runescape . quiero jugar un mmo mas de la vieja escuela hicieron wow clasico pero me frustre con como manejaban wow clasico. intente eso ff14 y guild wars 2 pero estos juegos son demasiado modernos y lineales y de ritmo rapido. hay algunos mmos nuevos que tratan de ser de la vieja escuela pero lo llevan demasiado lejos y tratan de ser como ultima online o everquest. juegos como Albion online por ejemplo. asi que creo que lotro tiene un buen equilibrio entre lo viejo y lo nuevo. los mmos fueron los mas populares durante el periodo de mediados a finales de los 2000 y se puede ver por que. todavia soy un novato en este juego pero estoy disfrutando de la dificultad bien equilibrada en comparacion con los mmos modernos. Este juego me da los sentimientos wow solía darme, pero yo no conozco el mundo muy bien por lo que es más interesante. soy un fan casual tolkien vi todas las películas y leer los libros, pero no he hecho mucho con la franquicia de más de 10 años. así que mi memoria de ellos es nebuloso por lo que disfrutar de la exploración del juego.

Lotro is a pay-to-win grind scheme that they've taken all of the fun out of. You will 1-shot your way through the entire game as a solo player and never need to group except for the raids at the end, for which you will need a maxed-out toon, and the grind for this is horrendous. They have a cash shop to make it a lot less painful. Soon there will be a private classic server. That I can recommend...

It is definitely NOT a ptw grind scheme. so much up to like lvl 90 is free to play. There's a great and small dev team with people that need to be paid, nothing really comes for free. And if you don't want to one shot through the entire game, there is a landscape difficulty setting. What has LOTRO done to you to be so salty about it? That private classic server is really hardcore, I don't really like that. But it's nice it's coming for people that want that.

Its is a p2w grind scheme. Every 6-9 months they release a major update or expansion with an instance cluster, except they only release 1/4th of it at the start. They release the first instance or two and only the first 1-3 tiers of it, and only the shitty purple gear. The grind is nightmarish and they keep the best gear available in lootboxes. A couple months later they release the final tiers of these instances, and better gear, knowing you will stick around to see it and repeat the grind. A couple months later they release the raid, but only the first 2 tiers, and only the purple gear. See a pattern? If you don't think this is a scheme, I don't know what to say to you.

It looks and plays a lot better than it appears in this video. I'm not a big lotro player, but when I did try it out the visuals and gameplay definitely weren't hindrances at all. Im considering going back to it in the near future and starting over as I never got very far in
