I just went through this 4 days , I am in a condo and gens are not allowed . I built a battery back up 160ah /1000 watt inverter with 200 watt solar panels. Great for 2 days but keeping the heater going on 100 gals water . You need 3 to 400 ah for 4 to 5 days . The pumps no problem . I coulda ran indefinitely. Heat no had to hook inverter to car batt so I ended running my car for 15 to 20 hours to keep tank at 73 to 76.. I am ready to order 300ah batt. Will have it in a couple weeks. That batt back up you had shown for a small tank sure.👍 not 100 up. Great to see . You and tom reefer putting this out there .people need this .on e you invest a gnote! It’s worth spending $$$$$$ 500 to 1000 on it cause the outage is comming ! for sure tomorrow next week or 2 years it’s comming !garenteed ! thx johnny

Its 100% coming for sure. Always good to be prepared. Later down the road I want a Hydros X10 which can connect to a battery back up.

I bought a $300 APC (mainly for desktops) backup power supply to power my return pump for my 20G Waterbox. It only bought me 6 hours of run time during a winter storm. Thankfully power came back on 3 hours after but a generator is definitely a better choice.

Around here, we only lose power in the winter and its cold. To keep the tank warm, i wrap it in blankets. Then, i have one of those battery generators and i use a 50 watt heater. With the tank insulated with the blankets, 50 watts is enough to replace the tiny amount of heat that's lost. Then, a couple of those battery-powered air stones. I could probably make it work indefinitely with this setup but replacing batteries and recharging stuff as needed. I guy across town relied strictly on a generator. After 24 hours, he ran out of fuel and lost everything. A blanket over the tank, a battery air stone, and then only running that generator once every few hours to replace heat would have saved him thousands
