i actually disagree that his growth feels realistic. Minor spoilers ahead Because see it until the Asura training. Gaining a mana core is realistic, gaining training from Sylvia was realistic, everything else was offscreen. Controlling and learning beast will: Offscreen. Gaining the second level of beast will: offscreen. Sylvie's growth: offscreen. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think they're bad because they are offscreen. I think they're unrealistic because we don't see him struggle. We hear about how Beast Will is a powerful force that would take a long time to learn but he just offscreen masters the first level. I disliked the adventurer arc because it was one adventure and just to grow Sylvie and show how much more broken Arthur is after getting second level of beast will. It did not show any growth for his base power. To me, I saw no difference between Arthur before the adventure arc and after the adventure arc in terms of base power.

@@agenti4734 yes I agree. But what I meant by realistic is that, even after all those training arcs, he just randomly doesn't become the strongest. Ofc he becomes strong, but in a deserving kinda way. I don't know if I can express it better

@@vyk5647 to me, the only deserving power up is when he is training at the asuras. With the rest, I don' know how he trained so I don't know wtf he was doing for years on end. Maybe he was meditating, maybe he was fucking a tree. I don't know so I can't estimate his strength. It feels less like he's increasing his strength because every time he fights at his max, he dominates. The only time he didn't was because he was at a disadvantage: Elderwood Guardian and blocking Tessia when he could have pushed her out of the way and was restricting himself to only use wind magic. He never fights an uphill battle. He never faces a wall which he can determine as the strongest. The reason why I know this is because we don't see any feats from anyone else except when Arthur is involved. In many other stories, the top tiers get time to show they are top tier. Other than sparring with Arthur, when has Virion been shown to be strong? Other than beating down Arthur, when have the lances been shown to be strong?

I read the comic first then started reading the light novels where the comic ended and yeah same here its definitely one of my favorite series. Its way better than I thought it was going to be when I initially started it. This series is addicting and all of the characters are great. Also the story is amazing, kind of sad and brutal at times but that is part of what makes this so good I think. You never know who might get killed off next lol. This series definitely keeps you guessing.

I love Tbate, was easily my favorite webtoon/ novel for a very long time. recently I've been reading LOTM (lord of the Mysteries) and I think its on the same level maybe even above. Basically if you like Tbate I would VERY much suggest reading LOTM.

Haha you know I just split the LOTM pdf I found into the 8 volumes so I can easily read it( and I gave each one a cover page lol) I did decide however to start with the comic just so I can have a good visual of the characters and the world before I read the novel (I heard the comic skips a lot, but even so that’s also pretty good. Klein just took the potion to be a seer and he’s considering getting a 4th member for his meetings )

I have completed LOTM book 1 So far, it has outclassed TBATE. And by quite a lot. Something I do find on an equal, or higher(IMO) level is ORV. Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. This thing, it's strongest part is the epilogue, but the epilogue cannot be reached without the main story. The story's prologue starts from the epilogue anyway. I hope that made sense. Edit: Im talking about the novels, not the webcomic. I have completed the entire novel of LoTM, and ORV. I put TBATE on hold after Arthur's return. Im comparing these, and soon I will catch up to the TBATE novel. Then I will update my views. Let's see how it changes

Thats how it needs to be seen to make sense of things. But in a fantasy story? With reincarnation? Hell nah. The only 'NTR' thingy that people think the story has is Tess's BODY housing another soul that loves Nico. Tess still exists. And they are both fighting for dominance. For Tess to get her body back. And for Cecilia( she was somehow more annoying than Tess) to win the war for Agrona so that he can send her and Nico back home. NTR? Where tf is it? Tess is very much alive. And still loves Arthur more than ever.

If you are getting into Tbate I suggest start reading the comic, then at around the end of the school arc start reading the novels(book 5 is the one immediately after the school arc). Then if you finish and enjoy it a lot, read the novels 1-4 to get a bit more in depth.

what i find kind of funny is that the comic basically has just covered the prologue, TM (TurtleMe, author) could have just skipped his entire childhood, could have recounted the main events but no we got close to the characters and now, in 2024 when the war begins and the prologue ends. people will see arthur being this massively op 'chosen one' protagonist and then see all that being crushed, arthur is demeaned into all his aspects not being special, he turns out to be weak in the face of true power. and so after arthur basically dies again, he becomes something more then human. while loosing a bit of his humanity

The main thing I like about this series is the MC is one of the first in Isekai whose flashbacks to his previous life aren't boring as f*ck. Looking at you Mushoku Tensei and Re Zero. Still, the good artist is gone now, and Tessia is super annoying and very present in the story. Those two things alone would make me hesitate to recommend it to people.
