I am happy you had good time in Nagano prefecture. I live near Tokyo now but I am originally from Matsumoto, another major city in Nagano ptefecture. Matsumoto is very nice place to visit. It has Matsumoto castle, one of the oldest remaining castles in Japan. Try wonder around Matsumoto next time you come to Japan!

I live in Nagano. There are many ramen restaurants in Nagano where you can eat miso ramen, but the miso ramen at "Misoya" is the best I've ever eaten. I can definitely recommend it. Thank you for coming to Nagano!

You went to a nice private hot spring. I thought I was familiar with Nagano Prefecture, but I didn't know about this inn. I would definitely like to go there. Nagano Prefecture is a very nice place. Karuizawa is also good.

Mado and Glen if you want big feels watch Your Name, a Japanese animated romantic fantasy. That movie [gestures in Italian]. Sooooo good!

This is a random question guys - but what were you reasons for going on the Wanderer and not the Navigator for your Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise? Thanks!
@GlenAndMadoАй бұрын
Hey Robert, very random indeed! Basically, less people, so it felt more private. It had about half the amount of people. it was also the only one with a big discount at the time at around 20 per cent so that's also why we chose wanderer instead of the other one.

How many NZ dollars did it cost you to hire that lovely Toyota van? Would you mind working that out for me? Many thanks😊
@GlenAndMadoАй бұрын
Hey hey! thanks for asking Lesley, it works out around 165.20nzd per day actually! Basically 100usd as day. there's one half the size for half the price which are as good also though especially if there's only 1 or 2 people. they had no other available at the time so that's why we got the bigger one.

Looking at properties - do you know about the cheap houses selling in Italy - here on YT?
@GlenAndMadoАй бұрын
Oh of course heard many things myself and even looked up properties in many places in Italy lol. There was also that 1euro special day a few years ago but you need to renovate which is part of the deal. you can get an awesome deal thought but a lot of work has to be put into the homes but also houses that are cheap are mostly in the middle of nowhere.
@ForevermoreVibeАй бұрын
@@GlenAndMado yes, they seem to be on a spectrum - some are like E70,000 with no work needed - just depends on each - the middle of nowhere is not so appealing but some are in towns too, but it's just a thought as I am older so it's out of my league now but if I was young I would consider it - thanks for the reply and love your videos.
@GlenAndMadoАй бұрын
@@ForevermoreVibe Oh for 70k youd get a really good place! I was thinking between 20-30k euro haha. I saw a nice property in Scilly for 28k one day and was surprised how cheap it was with little revelation needed! lovely views too. At our current situation we couldn't afford one anyways lol as we just keep travelling so that's our problem but would honestly love to get ourselves a property somewhere in the future.

Glen, I have read some not so nice articles about the older generation not being cared for by their families, as they have in the past. Sadly some elderly have been abandoned. That has to be so scary. Though some older people you are seeing no doubt want to do that, keep working, for their mental and physical wellbeing, but I wonder how many are simply because they have no choice. I know that this has been happening in China as well, for some years. Very sad.
