When covid hit our country NZ I took the steering wheel of my life. My voice was screaming at me to not be forced by our government to make choices with my body I didn't feel were safe. It took strength I never knew I had. It was the bravest thing I've ever done. Some family a ftiends dropped me. That rejection was to try and control me. But I followed my inner voice. I thought at the end of this I could die but I had to trust that inner voice. I don't really "trust" society now. I only really trust myself. Ftiends and family came crawing back but they showed their true colours. Always make your own inner voice it is from the heart.

Oh lovely, it’s not too late. I’m 58 and have gone through my life regretting so much not pursuing the career path I wanted to because I let people dictate what they thought was best for me. Then I had a breakdown around 13 years ago and it took me a very long time to come through it, many years, and I lost a lot of time and a big chunk of my life that I will never get back, but I am going to make damn sure that I am going to do the things I want to. I won’t pursue that same career path now but there are other things I want to do like run my own successful business and have been working on that. I’m also revisiting my old hobbies and many other things I want to do. So please don’t think it’s too late. And while it may not necessarily be a business you wish to start, just remember, Colonel Sanders founded Kentucky Fried Chicken at the age of 62. You can do anything you want. A friend of mine took up playing bass guitar at 63 and she now plays in a band at 64. Wishing you the very best 💗

At 23 I took hold of my life and decided to never let anyone keep me from being myself again. Now at 60 I look back at the profound changes that came from living an authentic life. It’s not magic, you still have challenges and choices to make,but you feel so much better owning your life instead of pointing outward to explain your pain. I went right into therapy, left an abusive marriage, raised my young son who has become a loving family man, and I still live in my truth. At the moment I’m reevaluating my 30 year second marriage, he’s about to retire, our twins are 25, on their own and are kind humans. We did good by them, not perfect though, but connected. ❤ I want to step into the last part of my life as authentically and responsibly as I can. This is another crossroads for me. Blessings to you my young friend. 🙏 Your messages are helping so many. I just want to say that you are authentic and kind and sharing your truth, and this world needs you to be who you are, to do what you’re doing. Thanks for this comment. It feels like you said it just for me. I know what your saying is a fact and I constantly have to remind myself of this. It's just so hard when your loved one's (immediate family-wife..kids) can't see. I found myself experiencing anger about it and love is what my intention is. Enlightenment isn't for everyone and all I can do is plant the seed because I found out that I can't take care of the plant full time and if the person doesn't want to wake up.... Earlier today I was being distracted by some negative things going on around me,and the essence called me to get on my bicycle and get connected with what really matters, so I hit the trails, and I road about 20 miles and went to a very spiritual place for me, I was dodging the dark clouds and thunderstorms the whole time,but was well worth it, cried my eyes out ,(happy tears) when I reached my destination, coming home I had to ride the trails in a thunderstorm another 5 miles, and it was awsome! last time I did that I was just a child, and I see your msg saying rain or shine step out in faith( how cool is that,)😊. Stop looking for a script to follow. If you have alot of freedom and free time and can do what you want to do. What's wrong with finding things that interest you and spending some time doing that? We all have a purpose, yes but it's up to us to decide what that purpose is, and purposes can change with time. You are putting way to much pressure on yourself, to do what? Save the world? Try relaxing into life and living. Simple trial and error of different activities can lead you into what gives you pleasure, and discovering your next or current purpose. We are all creators and authors of the story of our lives. Soo... what do you want to create, and what story do you want to write? It's up to each of us to discover this for ourselves. I'm the same man, I don't know what I want to do but I also admit I don't try out much, I'm working on that and I think that's what you just do, if you don't have one strong passion towards something, you just try things and do the things you enjoy most. What life do you want to live? What do you want? Difficult to answer. Especially currently with the world being so uncertain. An interesting thing I heard recently was - what does your ideal regular tuesday look like? Since life consists mostly of regular days, you want to do what works best for you and make it enjoyable. And basically you can plan your days, months accordingly, moving closer to your goal slowly. Also 2nd comment has a point and I forget about it sometimes - that we are adults and have freedom of choice. In fact it's easier when someone chooses for you because you feel more secure and if something goes wrong you can blame the person but when you rely on yourself, well.. Speaking from experience no authority figure, no teacher will give you all the information, they're not able to give you all that you're looking for, you're the only one that can, that's why people say, when making decisions, hear out others but decide yourself, on your own morals, ideas, etc.

Well, Don't just sit there and do nothing. You know how many people need your help? You have no idea. There are so many things you can volunteer at. How about a seniors help organization, a suicide help line. Help in the schools to help special need kids with reading. How about the food bank, a refugee settlement organization or habitat for humanity? There is sooo much out there. get your ass out there and help. It is soo rewarding. Just google volunteers wanted in my area.

I'm working my way towards this goal. I have a lot of trauma to deal with along the way, but I'm committed to the journey, painful as I know it will be. Someone, I'm not sure who, once said that in order to best serve the world, you need to be the most you-shaped piece pf the puzzle you can be. It means the same thing, though. When you're at your best (i.e. most authentic) you're showing up for everyone as the best version of yourself. It's a win-win-win situation.
