Hey Callum! Thanks for the video, was great footage of masjid al Aqsa and the dome. If you are at all interested or curious about Islam don’t hesitate to ask any questions (both here in the comments and on your travels to any Muslims you meet). Islam literally means “submission to the creator” and is derived from the root word “Salam” which means peace - we say “Asalamu alaikum” when we greet one another which means peace be upon you. As you can infer, we worship one creator of the universe only. It’s an amazingly simple religion at its core :)

Islam did not destroy the churches nor forced the Arab Christians to convert to Islam. Islam is the Truth and it is PEACE. Even Caliph Omar, when he conquered Jerusalem, told the aristocrat Jews from Galilee to come and settle in Jerusalem, and they chose the Mt Zion / City of David area. Islam preserves history and the different religions and cultures, all were allowed to coexist and live in harmony. That's the beauty of Islam.

Excellent video brother Callum, I had the good fortune to visit Palestine four years ago. Insha Allah I hope to go back some day soon. The mosque that you said is Al-Aqsa mosque is actually called Qibli Mosque. The Alqsa mosque covers the whole area of the compound where you were walking, Al-aqsa contains 5 mosques within, There are two underground mosques and a mosque where the Prophet Muhmamed Sallaaho Alayhai Wassalam tied the buraq, when he came from Makkah. The soldiers that you saw were there to escort Zionist settlers that come into the Al-Aqsa mosque compound on a daily basis.
