The tribulation of Revelations is God wrath and Jesus says he will save us from the hour of wrath meaning he will rapture us out of here. The word rapture means "to be caught up." Read 1 Thessalonians 4:17, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, Romans 5:9. These passages point to pre-trib rapture.

However, John, through the Holy Spirit, said the things on Revelation were to take place soon, Rev 1:1,3. That was written in the 1st century.
