Poland really surprises. I enjoyed watching your video. It is both interesting and informative. Krakow is a special place where people representing different ethnic and religious groups had been living side by side for centuries before 1939. There are many more places like Krakow in Poland. It is worth remembering that in the history of Poland there have never been religious wars, unlike in other European countries. German National Socialism caused a hecatomb on Polish soil. The Soviets also had a large share in what happened in Poland during and after World War II. Kazimierz remains the heritage of Jewish culture in Krakow. Great video. Keep it up!!!

They could do with maybe one multi-storey car park around The Schindler factory. There are a few bits and pieces there. But absolutely every space was taken so we couldn't get parked. I enjoyed this part of my trip to Poland. There is a very strong vibe of history and prices were very good in the market.

Old Jewish Quarter... all the Jews were murdered in WW2, of course. Well...not all of them. A few survived, coming back to Krakow post WW2 to claim their old houses and belongings. Many were murdered, others fled after their lives were threatened, by Poles who decided that they liked their neighbor's stuff too much. I interviewed one woman in particular who was featured in several docs, Maria Blitz, who told me her family story. She came back, knocked on the door of her parents nice house, and saw her dad's grandfather clock inside, among other of her family possessions. She was told to leave immediately or risk bad things happening to her. She fled to Germany, which was safer for Jews at that point AFTER the war than the Pogrom-happy Poland. So when we walk the old Jewish quarter of Krakow, as I have, its important to remember why its the Old Jewish Quarter, and what happened to the Jews that once lived there. These were the houses many of them lived in.

All tourists on Kraków make the same mistake. Kraków is a night city! The Polish Las Vegas. The jewish quarter is to visit late. The day it' s rather empty....late you can't find any place to sit in pubs!
@AbbyandGaz8 ай бұрын
Yes it was also bustling at night too ☺️
