Its called a volcanic or nuclear winter (both names work decently as the effects are pretty much the same), which is a global cooling phenomenon caused by volcanic eruptions and the sulphur in the air create droplets that block out the sun. Pretty much everything dies except some preppers. Toba, which was bigger than the biggest yellowstone eruption caused a 6-10 year long volcanic winter. Safe to say you need a LARGE amount of food and tools to create communities after the winter ends.

Most preppers won't even have the amount of supplies needed I'm sure they'd find nevermind struggle to actually survive the time and isolation from any social life, id be surprised if humanity could even bounce back in all honesty, the vitamin deficiency alone, not to mention also the skills to ensure knowledge of enough including for growing food again

Im pretty sure youd managed 4-5 years as a well stocked prepper, but the mental pressure would probably end many more than nutrients would.

Fun fact. I live north of Yellowstone in Montana. If it goes off with full force, I have about 10-15 minutes before my life ceases. Will be shorter, as I'm just going to drive towards it to get it over with quicker. You will see massive food shortages as plants won't be able to grow, killing off animals as well. Not to mention all the green house gasses you'll be breathing in.

The new patch changed his AI to play more stealthy, setting up more traps, avoiding players and ambushing them, but the coding was a mess and just made Bigfoot so passive you'd believe he was straight up removed from the game

Mark was playing on easier settings and this was after the patch where bigfoots ai was changed also since he was solo he was playing seriously compared to when he plays with friends in which they're lucky to deal a quarter of his health (not to mention the health scales with playercount) I.E Mark didn't have teammates wasting ammo and resources and had to play super serious in order to do it, as opposed to SR who're trying to entertain a live audience
